Whose gonna pay for the medical bills after 14 year old crashes family SUV

FHP: 14-year-old crashes SUV, several seriously injured - Story | FOX 13 Tampa Bay

Hey, I got my fam with me, got some 6 year olds, some teen agers, we're going on the highway, my 14 year old should be able to drive no problem, hell he hardly wrecks in GTA V.....

And whose gonna pay for this mess. FFS.

Insurance. Thats what it's for.
Every accident, well nearly every one, is caused by a moment of human stupidity. This one, for all it's tragic consequences, is nowhere near the worst example.

This thread is halarious. Mother lets her 14 year old drive and everyone freaks out calling her the worst mother. If he was 15 and had his learners permit no one would be saying that. Arbitrary lines creating faux outrage, gotta appreciate the small things in life.

Was he big for his age?

I think Florida's learning permit is age 15, and they may have some hardship rules as well.
On the farm where I grew up, my cousins and older siblings were driving road vehicles by about 12,(on private roads)
and almost everyone knew how to drive a tractor.
(I remember when my sister was teaching me to drive a car, I was surprised, it did not have a left and right break!!!)

He wasn't 15, and he didn't have his learner's permit.

I don't see any faux outrage in this thread, except yours. I see people rightfully outraged that an unlicensed driver was behind the wheel of a car with 2 adults and a lot of innocent children. Not sure what's so "halarious" (sic) about this thread.

I did for several years--mostly liability issues, investigative kinds of things, work comp--before getting so utterly fed up with it that my husband and I went into business for ourselves. We are mostly retired now.

Isn't there a clause in the insurance that they do not pay for criminal behavior?

Also they might not call it an accident as it was foreseeable.

I don't believe there is any insurance that exempts illegal behavior by children. There are some forms of insurance that will reduce coverage if illegal behavior is involved. Most Work Comp insurance, for instance, will reduce coverage for an employee who is injured or becomes ill likely because of illegal behavior on the job--alcohol, drugs, etc. But they cannot deny medical or all benefits just because the employee was doing something illegal. And unless the illegal behavior almost certainty contributed to the injury, the employee is entitled to full coverage despite engaging in illegal behavior.
