Most of us knew this was inevitable...probably explains why Hillary received nearly 3 million more votes but lost the election do to a lot of racist voters in the South and just enough to hand Trump the win in the rural Midwest.

...in full view of the country and the world, we are watching what happens when a president is elected on the basis of an incoherent and crowd-sourced agenda, one that pandered to white nationalists and stoked economic anxiety. When that same president is someone who has never managed a large bureaucracy and brings almost no close associates who have. And when some of the aides he haphazardly acquired a few months before taking office care more about their own ambitions than his own—whatever they are.

The West Wing right now is a place where the ground is always shifting. With the exception of two family members—Trump’s daughter Ivanka, an unpaid assistant to the president, and her husband, Jared Kushner, a senior adviser to the president—no one on Trump’s topmost White House staff has been with the new president for very long. That presents a sharp contrast with the teams around Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Trump’s staff is as unbridled as the president himself. His advisers came together almost by accident and by default. They exhibit loyalty to their boss in front of the camera, only to whisper about him (and about their rivals, often in vicious terms) when the camera is gone.

This will not end well. I can only hope the country does not go to rot...but, the fact that we put these clowns into the White House gives me great concern. Perhaps we have reached the tipping point. Perhaps the country is what we see happening in the Oval office: a bunch of selfish cry babies throwing each other and the country under the bus to advance their own private agendas.

We shall see.

Rapid crumbling? Geeze Louise, some folks in the press sure are stretching with their click bait.

Indications are already pointing to a very likely adjustment in the 2018 mid-term elections for the House and Senate.

The 2018 election is still out there in the haze however and things could change radically in the White House between now and then as the novices gain more experience. Not likely but possible indeed.

Throughout MSM continues doing what it always does, i.e., report on the politicians hanging themselves as they do it. The "Breaking News Now" kind of thingy. So we slow down and look as MSM provides details of the car-wreck we've just come across. Because providing the gruesome details is what sells newspapers and draws viewers. Not to mention the rubbing it in.

MSM readership is up and viewer numbers have skyrocketed. More people catch Rachel Maddow each day than pay any attention to Donald Trump in a week. Worse is that neither group believes Trump. The one thing we know for sure is that we're looking at yet another car wreck.

And after a while it becomes a pileup.

I'd have to agree. I'm really not seeing any 'crumbling' going on in the administration.

But this is pretty much what I've come to expect from any of the threads Clamity starts, just more distorted attack / destroy Trump and his admin at any cost crap.

Taking hate to that magnitude must require a lot of wasted energy.

I guess we can all hope that eventually Calamity will expend his energy and just frankly run out of it.

It would appear that most everyone else has.

These dayze I sort of like the old Mitch McConnell...at least in a certain way.

A guy with a single purpose in the Senate back when. To ensure Barack Obama would be a one term Potus.

Mitch failed but he's America's Exhibit #1 of the single purpose guy. Trump has a humongous job going on to get his overall approval rating above 40%. Or to keep it in at least the low 40th percentile for more than a week.

The most unpopular Potus ever inaugurated. And it's been downhill since with the exception of a couple of points in polling after becoming the Big Bopper Potus. The Potus who's got a Big One and he uses it...as we just saw in Afghanistan. Syria also. It's the standard Potus quick fix of bombing 'em but this time 'til we're tired of winning. The Trump No Apologies Tour.

Trump is still talking Obamacare so as long as Trump remains, well, Trump, he makes himself vulnerable like no other Potus. If we can keep Trump talking Obamacare right up to the 2018 election that would be really great.

Are there on-record quotes from the principals in this fantasy or just the conjectures of the wishful thinking opponents that wish it was so?

Read the article. It explains what came from where.

The people who voted for him need to come to understand why all their stupid ideas are so terrible.

We need to raise tariffs, waste $50 billion or whatever on his little fence, proceduralize intolerance of immigrants, form an alliance with Russia, force people back into coal mines, cut everyone's healthcare, cut environmental regulations let the idiot control the press, sacrifice whatever freedoms remain; and then fast forward 50 years, once those people learn the stupidity of those actions, we rewind back to Nov 8th and give them another shot at sanity.

Not quite as much energy expelled from the right and birthers the last 8 years.

Rapid Crumbling is nothing more than what liberals are telling themselves to make them feel better. I could never figure out the point of lying to yourself, it´s like cheating at solitare.
