The thread was proven clearly wrong, as you well know, since trump won states with less than 12 EVs by 71 EVs of his total 74 EV winning total.

It's completely dishonest to state that Hillary won the smaller states, as you know.

Why do you think the OP thinks states like OK, NE, UT, IA, AR, KS and MS are heavily populated ?

I couldn't care less. I know the following

Hillary lost. Trump won. Hillary's huge landslide in California meant Hillary had more of the popular vote than Trump. Trump won far more counties, and states. Trump is president, Hillary is hopefully finished as a politician

With the exception of D.C. and Hawaii, all the states won by Hillary were in the liberal or Democratic bastion of the Northeast. Hawaii and D.C. has always been Democratic strongholds. No surprise there. The same with the states Trump won, plain or Rocky Mountain states, Republican strongholds as has been Alaska. One would expect the results to be exactly what they were. Although New Hampshire has been the lone Republican holdout in the northeast for quite a while, but has been trending Democratic for at least the last 20 years.

The United States is a very divided nation politically as it was during the Civil War. But not north and south, it is divided with the northeast and west coast on one side and fly over country or middle America on the other. That is with the exception of a few island states in the old midwest like Minnesota and Illinois. We went from an era around 50 years ago when almost every state was in play to around a handful are in play today, we call them swing states. Around 8 and no more than 10, the rest are already decided regardless of whom the nominees are.

I think this has more to do with the movement of the two parties to the right and left, call that hard right and left. Back 40 to 50 years ago there wasn't that much difference in the two parties. There is now. Back then each party had their conservative and liberal wings, not anymore.

i hope that the Democrats are working 24/7 to find someone who can lead the party and win rather than just passing the crown to the next unappealing legacy candidate. it's depressing that we are ready to ride this gerrymandered two party system down to the ocean floor, but someone at least needs to grab a bucket.

How did I point that out? You guys were talking about the lowest population states and I pointed out that the states (and DC) with just 3 or 4 electoral votes actually went for Hillary, not Trump. She is the one who won the lowest of the lowest population states. You changed the subject to fit your biased partisan narrative.

The left continues to try claiming that Trump won the lowest population states and I proved that it was actually Hillary who won these areas. Even if you take DC out, it was a 6 - 6 tie. But, DC has 3 electoral votes, just as a state has electoral votes.
