Oh, I agree with you. Our justice system needs a complete overhaul. And the only reason that it costs more to execute someone is all of the legal wrangling that goes along with it. If it was limited to a single mandatory appeal, after which the criminal has to prove their factual innocence, not just whine that they don't like the sentence, it would be positively cheap.

your whopping 1 appeal or even 20 appeals would STILL have executed the guy proven innocent after 40 years. As if being locked up so long, and the real killer going free, isn't unjust enough. Now you want to turn us into china

if you admit the system is terrible, then your support for immediate execution is even more baffling. Then again from your other posts about people who don't choose death when they become sick being cowards, i can definitely see you putting a low monetary value on protecting the innocent. If life has so little meaning to you, maybe you should stay out of these threads

Here we see the fabled 'compassionate conservative' at work, even as there's been many proven innocent years after they would've been executed:

"A man who spent nearly 40 years in prison for a murder he did not commit filed a federal lawsuit on Tuesday against the city of Cleveland and the police officers who he says helped frame him in 1975"

Here's to bloodthirsty arkansas!

Rate of false conviction of criminal defendants who are sentenced to death

Nonetheless, it's certainly rare to see a right wing atheist

Actually, statistics show that 20% of atheists are conservatives.
