To be such a successful businessman (minus his many failures) Trump seems to be the most insecure, high profile individual that I have ever come across. He seems incapable of taking a position without having to preface it, or justify it, by mentioning what some other person has or has not done in the past. In addition, his continued penchant for hypocrisy seems to indicate that a 70 years old man, with a plethora of personality flaws, will likely ever change for the better.

Most recent case in point: In trying to explain and rationalize why he took military action against Syria, Trump stated that if Obama had done his job, Trump wouldn't have had to. Now, given the following tweets:

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump
What will we get for bombing Syria besides more debt and a possible long term conflict? Obama needs Congressional approval.

What I am saying is stay out of Syria.

AGAIN, TO OUR VERY FOOLISH LEADER, DO NOT ATTACK SYRIA - IF YOU DO MANY VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN & FROM THAT FIGHT THE U.S. GETS NOTHING!

@realDonaldTrump
President Obama, do not attack Syria. There is no upside and tremendous downside. Save your "powder" for another (and more important) day!
9:21 AM - 7 Sep 2013

One has to wonder if Trump is actually too mentally unstable to recognize the hypocrisy of his former statements, or does he simply believe that his 35 % hardcore folks are simply to ignorant to figure it out?

I think he is so mentally unstable that it would be both of those things.

Hasn't this subject already been covered? That aside, I 100% agree with your assessment here in that he is hypocritical on his actions in Syria. He has also lost a lot of support from his more enthusiastic supporters over his actions but has gained support from the establishment types on both sides of the aisle.

This is the thing I find interesting, his actions are more mainstream and he's being criticized for it. Ya'll don't like him for being less mainstream on many issues but as soon as he takes the more "moderate" approach he gets attacked.

Trump will forever be known as the "DO AS I SAY.....NOT AS I DO" President. He is the hypocrite in chief.

If the country was half as concerned with holding previous administrations to their campaign promises as they are with Trump this country never would of had a election between the worst possible candidates the country could of offered.

I just hope th is new found attention to honesty doesn't fade as controlling parties change position.

His flip flop on using some force in Syria is one of his more forgivable actions IMO. You can't expect the opinion of a man at home sitting on his couch watching TV to remain unchanged once he is sitting in the Situation Room surrounded by military experts and the weight of the world on his shoulders.

I can see by your limited amount of posts that you need to spend more time here before making such a declaration. Many anti Trump folks held Clinton accountable for her lies, me included, but I could see Trump for what he was, and is even now, a con man. His NPD should be a disqualifying condition for Pres, in the future mental evals will be needed for all potential candidates, yup Trump has set the bar that low.

That's because in his mind he's the CEO of the United States, not President.

Yeah yeah, we get it. When a lib flip flops it's called, "evolving", "pragmatic" etc. When a republican changes his mind.....HYPOCRITE!!!!! GET A ROPE!!!!! :roll:

Apparently they have never changed their minds on anything.

Exactly!

Trump at the very least, should have INFORMED Congressional leaders of the 360 degree sea change in his policy, and guessing by the SOS response, he dont either!!

Really? Not from what I've seen on any threads that brought up her lies.

What's "NPD"?

And what mechanism do you propose, exactly, to force candidates to undergo a "mental eval" in the future?

Feel free to go thru my posts pre general election. As for post election, she is toast, let it go.

President Trump flip flops more than spring breakers in Cancun.

* China being/not being a currency manipulator
* NATO being/not being obsolete
* Yellen
* Bannon
* Syria
* NuclearJapan
* Wall/fence
* Birtherism
* Putin
* Federal minimum wage
* Marijuana/States rights/Sessions
* Repeal Obamacare
* Pay to Play (Hillary in Morocco vs Trump in Mar-A-Lago)

I mean, is there any single issue this guy will actually be able to show some spine on?

He is the king of sugar daddies, does that count for something in the locker room? Oh my, that banter!!

I didn't mean you specifically. I should have been more clear. You were never new here?

Ya back in the 80's lol

Let me add on, many anti Trump folks were here pre election, and not rabid Dems, some sure, I backed Hilldog as a realistic counter to Trumps NPD, and I picked right as proven by the mans lies and distortions to either protect his ego, or his ass.

No. I dont like him because of his continued hipocrisy and habitual lying.
These are not occasional events for Trump. They are every day occurances. He can't stand being criticised, but his own insecurity forces him to criticize others.
We are past the campaign. Enough of the childish " crooked Hillary" ****. She should refer to him as our "sex abusing POTUS" and then sit back and watch Trump whine about it.

That's not really a distinction for politicians.

So do you like his more mainstream response by using force or not?

the real reason people dont like him is that he is a liar.

I like the bombing because it means he his abandoning his isolationist constituency.
