Okay, let's not parse words on this one: Spicer screwed up big time with his reference to Hitler and chemical weapons. The reference itself was bad enough, but the timing (Passover) made it even worse.

Now, the above being said, the man made a mistake and he apologized for it. He actually went on CNN (instead of the friendlier atmosphere of Fox News) and made an honest apology for his comments. He deserves credit for doing so. He has a very tough job (speaking for a very bizarre acting POTUS) but that is the job he signed up for. That said, he made a mistake and apologized for it. Time to move on.

Dems: Don't paint the guy as anti-Semitic. That is grossly unfair. Time to move on.

Repubs: Don't try and "sugar coat", "dilute" or otherwise justify the remarks. You will look ignorant in doing so. The guy fuxed up and apologized for it. Time to move on.

I certainly don't think Spicey is anti-Semitic; he's simply incompetent.

As far as competent and "polished" Press Secretaries" go, he isn't very good. He is easily rattled and becomes defensive. Then again, can you imagine having to work for an unstable, ego-maniac like Trump? He had some measure of credibility in DC before he took that job. Hopefully, he will vacate it before he loses all of his credibility.

Before?

He's not good at his job. He was Trump's 4th or 5th pick.

I really hope he gets replaced with Kayleigh McEnany

Doesn't he know only progressives and Democrats can call people Nazis or compare them to Hitler, no wonder the Left is upset.

Spicer definitely rises to the level of the administration, I'll say that!

What you've said literally makes no sense in regards to what Spicer or anyone on this thread has said.

I hope he does not get replaced. He's pretty entertaining.

He should have gone with Laura Ingraham.

in a nutshell:thumbs:

Bad remark (stupid in fact), nevertheless.........................

"Frankly, I mistakenly made an inappropriate and insensitive reference to the Holocaust, for which there is no comparison," Spicer said. "And for that I apologize. It was a mistake to do that."

He also realized "I should have stayed focussed".

Good advice, like for those that, say, go off on tangents over how only progressives and Democrats can...........bla, bla, bla.

More accurately, he sinks to it. Spicer was a better man at the RNCC. He has compromised both is integrity and credibility to work for Trump.

He probably will be fired, not for what he said about Hitler, but because he apologized for it. With Trump, you never apologize, you tough it out or find some excuse for waht you said.
