Donald Trump’s trips to his luxury Florida resort have already cost the US taxpayer at least $24 million (£19.2 million) - roughly as much as Barack Obama spent on travel in the first two years of his presidency.
Mr Trump has spent seven weekends at Mar-a-Lago since taking office ten weeks ago. It is estimated that each of these trips costs at least $3 million (£2.4 million), covering the President’s extensive security detail.
In total, Mr Obama's travel bill over the eight years of his presidency came to $97 million (£78 million) - an average of $12.1 million (£9.7 million) a year.
And that doesn't include the costs of keeping Melania and Barron in NY:
The New York Police Department has confirmed that it costs between $127,000 and $146,000 (£101,000 and £116,000) a day “to protect the First Lady and her son while they reside in Trump Tower".

Will the 'fiscal conservatives' remain silent once again? Let's find out...
1. Trump is not and has never been Fiscally Conservative, nor have Fiscal Conservatives ever pretended that he was. Idiots have projected their own preferences onto him.
2. I agree to take this complaint seriously from any leftist who can demonstrate that they were similarly irritated with Obama's vacation expenditures.

We have put laws in place that detail that the President must be protected and travel with a huge entourage. Given that and given that it's pretty normal for business executives and others who work away from home to often go home during the weekend, it's on us to pay for it or change the law.
Opposed to any of this extravagant living, especially when paid with public funds. Wish that I lived in a country like Sweden or Uruguay in which the leader lives more like a normal citizen.
I think you missed the point. This is not about whether Trump should be able to travel but about the hypocrisy of Trumpkins who were long critical of Obama's travels but silent about Trump's.
You are correct I was not thinking about the hypocrisy of Trump's supporters - this is just one of many examples.
The whole idea about bitching about Presidential personal travel and vacations bothers me no matter who the President is.

I love that guy:The world needs more leaders like this guy.
As soon as politicians start climbing up the ladder, they suddenly become kings. I don't know how it works, but what I do know is that republics came to the world to make sure that no one is more than anyone else. You need a palace, red carpet, a lot of people behind you saying 'Yes, sir.' I think all of that is awful.
