I think we will still see people wanting to investigate the Russian connections that various people surrounding Trump have. It might not even slow things down considering Russia was informed about the attack in advance.

Still might be one. A key test here, is Russia's follow up response. Does Russia shoot down some American planes or kill some of our soldiers? If they do that, that's some pretty powerful evidence that Trump isn't in bed with Putin.

I am not on the left (or the right)...but why don't you wait for the senate/house/FBI to conclude their investigations before you decide there is nothing to 'this nonsense'?

I did not say they were or were not true.

I simply said that why don't you (and those on the left and the right) wait until all the investigations are over before deciding guilt or innocence?

As for the attacks being proof of anything - Trump could easily have done this to not just punish Assad but also to get the media off his back about the Russians. The Russians could have been notified beforehand and Putin could have been told that this was partly to help get the press to back off. And Putin could be feigning outrage.
I am not saying this is so - but one should NEVER underestimate the ability of politicians to lie and play games.

I did not say he purposely pissed off Putin.

I said they could have been in cahoots on this.

Trump told Putin he was launching the strikes beforehand partly to get the press off of his back about his possible Russian involvement. Putin would then agree to reign outrage to make it look more convincing. They could have both agreed to this course of action.
If you look at the pictures of the aftermath of the attack...there sure is not much damage considering 59 missiles were fired. And the runway wasn't touched.

I am not saying it happened...but it is impossible for us to know it didn't.

As I said - never underestimate the ability of politicians to lie and play games.

Considering..

1) The Pentagon warned journalists hours before the attack. (I saw journalists on twitter commenting "Pentagon told us to not go home, something big coming".. almost 6 hours before the dear leader announced the attack.)

2) That the Trump Administration warned the Russians... and hence Assad.

3) That the strikes hit basically nothing.. broken air planes and such. The air base is operational and has launched air strikes since.

4) That the Russian military did not shoot down or attempt to shoot down the missiles even though they have the capability to do so in place.

So yes, this stinks to high heaven of a political strike to bolster Trump at home, while attempting to distance himself from Russia.. but it failed as soon as the results of the attack came out. It reminds me of Hollandes 75% tax on the rich.. the party faithful loved it, but the impact was non existent due to the details of the tax.

Trump is a Manchurian candidate...
Trump is a Putin puppet.

Trump needs to be impeached asap and put in jail for treason.

Excellent question. I saw that answered on MSNBC last night. It seems that Russia faked the gas attack just to give Trump a reason to fire a few missiles and play hero.

Yes, people believe that stuff.

Trump told Putin ahead of time because he didn't want to kill any Russians and start a major incident between the two super powers.

An honest politician is one who stays bought. No one has ever accused Trump of being honest.

See how silly your arguments are? It does not make any arguments for Trump being a Russian mole(is any one actually claiming that? I mean besides random guy number 1023435433245 on the internets?) any more likely, but you should really put some time and thought into your own arguments.

Are you saying he didn't? Why didn't he shoot them down then? Just remember what Putin wants Trump to do, lift sanctions and approve the $500 billion oil deal. If a few Syrian hangars help that cause then why not? Trump is a figurehead as long as he has 35% approval and this whole thing stinks of dog wagging. If Trump says "Assad must go" I might change my mind. I'm not holding my breath though.
