So, did the subject come up at the dinner? Did Shimer think black athletes were naturally better sprinters, or was he just focused on those positions on the football field?

I know that whites have had little to no success in boxing for many, many years.

You did not address basketball, where whites have every chance to compete and still only represent a token NBA presence to appeal to white ticket buyers (review the Larry Bird post earlier).

I don't think anyone who is a serious athlete even questions that New world blacks are the dominant source of sprinters. I think Valeri Borzov (sp) was the last white guy to win the Olympic 100 though I think Guy Drut Of France won a 110 Hurdles at the 76 games. I am going on memory though and didn't google it but I know Lewis won the 84-88 and I think 92 golds (there was the one where Ben Johnson of Canada was DQd) and maybe one more and Bolt has won the last couple. There might have been a white guy who won the 400-he ran for Baylor-in 08 IIRC

Wait 25 or 30 years from now, whites from foreign lands will be included in a new basketball top ten!
40 years ago every weight class had a black as champion except for Duran as lightweight,
now the sport is dominated by European whites, Mexicano's, & some Asians in the smaller weight classes,
things change, wait & see!

In the women's 100, 200 & 400 meters the East Germans did a number on the new world blacks, in the 80's & 90's some did
PED's but some didn't. One was very attractive as I recall!

Other eastern European women & one girl from the Netherlands were gold medal winners in these events also!

White guys are champions in several weight classes, including heavyweight. Wikipedia will list them for you, with links to their pics. You're obviously not a boxing fan if you don't know about the Russians, Ukranians, Kazakhs, etc.As for basketball, whatever. I brought it up in my post- if you can't be bothered to read it and give it a bit of thought, it's on you, not me.

I haven't thought this through but I'm going to toss it out there anyway. In the US, blacks dominate sports that can be payed in local public playgrounds, sports with minimal equipement or where equipement is provded by a school or minor league. Whites dominate sports that have high equipement requirements and expensive rented facilities. Further, in track and field sports I'd expect blacks to dominate or do well in events that can translate into scholarships in football, basketball or baseball. Sports with a professional upside.

Really? I kind of remember him on the Oilers but I guess he was mostly Eastern conference. American?
If you want a black ass-kicker, look no further than Donald Brashear. Had a horrible childhood that put a definite serrated edge on his playing style.Unfortunately I can't copy-and-paste with this device.

Grier was from Detroit, and played hockey the right way. If he was not scoring, he was stopping the other team from scoring, never took a shift off, always played his heart out, and always looked like he was having a blast getting paid to do what he loved.
