House Intel Chairman Nunes to Step Down From Russia Probe

Trey Gowdy looks like an extra from Deliverance.
He should be the poster child for the dangers of fetal alcohol syndrome.

Attacking Gowdy wont make him go away, or make this growing scandal surrounding Susan Rice go away either.

You do know that Unmasking isn't a crime and can only be done by proper authorities when requested by a proper authority.

Leaking classified information is a crime, not the unmasking.

Misuse of position for political purposes is a crime...I think.

Look, Rice may have the ability to order some unmasking...but the question remains: Why did she do it?

Her job was to collect information the President considers important and related to national security and present it to him in his PDB. Why did she consider Trump, his associates, Hannity and others to be a national security issue? Why was Obama interested in them? Were they all possibly engaged in some action that was dangerous to the nation?

Another important question is: Why did she lie about it when she was interviewed by PBS?

I think these...and other questions...need to be answered. If there was some actual national security issues...we should know about them. If there were not, then those parties should be held accountable for using taxpayer-funded intelligence resources for political purposes.

The "leaking" issue is separate...though Rice's actions may have been part of a larger plan that culminated in confidential and classified information being easily acquired and leaked to the media. We need to get to the bottom of THAT, as well.

Really? As a southerner that comes from a family that didn't have money, I don't find that stereotype funny. I don't think you meant it hatefully, or at least I hope you didn't.

That stereotype is most often used hatefully. And gleefully.

I would hate for anyone to think I meant this to apply to all poor southerners.
Trey Gowdy certainly isn't poor.

And your'e still doing it. I guess you cant help yourself.

He wouldnt have been asigned to the commitee if he was incompetent.

LOL! Assumes facts not in evidence. Observing that his record of running investigations is utterly hamfisted and incompetent isn't only accurate, it's not partisan in the least.

Seriously, go look that word up and get back to me.

Its expected. They should be ecstatic over Nunez stepping down, but the GOP knew what they were doing when they assigned Gowdy to the investigative comittee.

They're a more than a little worried about the investigation into unmasking and leaking and theyre powerless to do anything about it.

Partisan and personal attacks is all they have left

There's your answer, Beaudreaux.

As I said:

Thank you for responding. I would suggest not saying that anymore, because now that we've discussed what it means to the rest of us, if you do use it again ... well. You're not the only one on DP that's compared Gowdy to Deliverance, which makes me think it must be some meme going around progressive circles.

Yep, Susan Rice was just doing her job, and unmasking was routine.

Makes you wonder why she lied about it in that PBS interview.

Hmmm.....I would say that narrows it down a bit. Wasnt Susan Rice a " Senior US Government Official " ??

Your logic is truly....im-peckable.

Don't look too deeply into it. Just watch the movie... it doesn't take any particular political allegiance to spot the similarities.

Hahaha ! Isnt that what the Left has been doing since the inaugeration ??

" Assuming facts " ?? 8 months long invetigation into Russian collusion and there's still zero evidence that it ever occured but that hasnt stopped the calls for Trumps impeachmet or the claims that he"s Putins puppet.

Well, what Senior US Govt official under the Obama administration do you think linked Flynns name WaPo ?

Im open for suggestions

Well, no GOP committee member is going to force a Democrat administation into holding one of their own accountble, but he still has plenty of experience and also a AG who's not corrupt
I totally agree.

Neither Holder nor Lynch was truly going to act on any referral from Congress or ever properly investigate, much less prosecute, one of those acting in behalf of the real on board team [see Senator Menendez who had the termerity to have a different policy stances than the president ].

Gowdy will be great, will at very least be entertaining to watch. And to give the nudge to the reality of this current situation, it appears Trump knows this isn't just the normal young buck challenging the older buck for ongoing primacy, this is a Titanic death struggle. One or the other will, HAS to go down ignominiously to everlasting defeat. Unequivocal, irrevocable and Nixonesque humiliating defeat.

From the look of the cards we can see, I am glad I am on the Trump side. So far, beyond just butt hurt inspired false claims, the left has fielded, at best, merely months long evaporating trails, not contrails but libtrails, of collusion innuendo going out the door.

AND, as you alluded, the other side no longer has the real power in any of the houses, white, congressional, state or supreme court houses with which to keep the total truth from actually making, finally, a rare appearence.

The trend is with Trump . Now IT, the wide spectrum amalgam of forces anti-Trump, is no longer laughing at him for alerting the world to surveillance of an opposing party candidate, then a President Elect to the pointo of admitting that well, there was incidental surveillance to, yes, team Trump members, usuallly protected American citizens, were unmasked even, to where we are now... yes, I guess you could call it spying, but it was not on Trump, team Trump and it was all "legal".

Well, except for that pesky criminal leak. And why, when asked two weeks ago would Susan Rice, at least one of the unmaskers [cool, finally an unmasker unmasked!!], deny any knowledge and specify it would not have been for political reasons. Hhhmmmm... does she bellieve that just because she is stupid, that the rest of us are just as dumb?

Doubling down on bigotry? That would not had been my choice, but you take whatever path you feel comfortable walking down.

What "bigotry" are you talking about?

Why would you expect the FBI to release evidence to the public before the investigation is complete? Tsk, tsk... that's a rather dishonest assumption, I fear.

Yawn. As has been pointed out here innumerable times: that was in January. Investigations are ongoing and would include findings/developments that he wouldn't be aware since that time.

What else do you have?

Either way, if Im working off assumptions then so is every Lib who's claimimg that Trump colluded with Russia to swing the election.

I get why the Liberals are attacking Gowdy, although their ideology is twisted, theyre usually not dumb individuals.

They know that both the Senate and House commitees want Rice to testify, and they also know that Rice wont be the only one getting a Congressional subpoeana.

Gowdy has much experience dealing with people like her and he's good at what he does. If he wasnt, you guys wouldnt be attacking him like you are.

LOL! It's not an attack to call an incompetent person 'incompetent'.
