Republicans turn fire on each other - POLITICO

Trump began Sunday with a tweet ripping the hardline conservative House Freedom Caucus and their outside backers, the group of three-dozen Republicans and like-minded groups that banded together to help block the health care bill.

“Democrats are smiling in D.C. that the Freedom Caucus, with the help of Club For Growth and Heritage, have saved Planned Parenthood & Ocare!” he tweeted.

But Trump’s ire, apparently, wasn’t limited to the conservative rebels. Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) — leader of the moderate Tuesday Group — confirmed that Trump upbraided him during a recent meeting at the White House and accused him of “destroying” the Republican Party. Dent was referring to an anecdote published Sunday in the New York Times Magazine describing the tense confrontation.

“According to an attendee, Trump angrily informed Dent that he was ‘destroying the Republican Party’ and ‘was going to take down tax reform — and I’m going to blame you,” the magazine’s Robert Draper reported.

Sometimes, it is just nice to sit back and watch the other party fight.

No big deal. They've already proven they can't hit anything. Lots of noise and smoke will be about it. Paper cut, maybe.

How do you suppose the conversation went down?

Right-Wing Republican: You know, the people are pretty ticked off that we want to take away their health care. This repeal could really be costly for our party.

Far-Right-Wing Republican: Freedumb!!!1 Kawnstitution!!!1 Founding Fathers!!!1

Right-Wing Republican: But shouldn't we come up with something else? The AHCA just isn't all that great.

Far-Right Republican: Liberteh!!!1 Soshalizm!!!1 Kawnstitution!!!1

Right-wing Republican: Why do I get the feeling this conversation is just going in circles?

Well, that didn't take long. But he is 70 years old so..........

Kind of fun watching a party being it's own obstructionist.

I'm just glad I don't have to make that tough choice between an iPhone and a physical.

I take a several month hiatus from politics in general, and come back to find intra-party gridlock, after years of inter-party gridlock. What a time to be alive!

I think part of the reason the GOP won in elections all over the country had more to do with Americans rejecting the Democrat Party than it did of them approving the GOP.
That being said, the GOP is being led by an outsider (former Democrat now Republican President Trump) and the party is trying to figure it out if it goes ultra conservative or moderate.
The Democrats are being led by former President Obama behind the scenes to force the progressive (which is really socialist) agenda upon the masses and to keep stuff like ACA in the works.
The majority of Americans do not want ACA but the squeaky wheel (or in this case rioters) appear to have the Senators & Rep.'s ears.
The GOP will get a rude awakening (and along with the DNC) when Americans reject both in the next election for a third party if they don't get rid of this socialist medicare ideas.
