Diplomats from Washington briefed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ahead of his phone call with Trump: Don’t fight him, don’t argue and don’t you dare whine that he is on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s side. All he wants is to receive love and recognition, because he is the admired Donald.

is this how tRump negotiates; by insisting on being flattered. by requiring his peers to agree to his every position and self-perception

this may be a reason why the great negotiator has been unable to negotiate anything of note since the inauguration

Trump's an authoritarian. It's hilarious when he's confronted because he isn't smart enough to exchange ideas. therefore when presented with a situation that requires critical thinking, he lashes out after feeling threatened. He's just a full blown idiot who wishes he was king is all. I hope the Palestinian leader sticks up for himself.

Maybe. But he has certainly changed a lot. We don't know it is all good nor that it will last, but negotiations are complicated things that can look very different one to the other. Let's see, what happens.
 
Trump is nothing but a dishonest bully. The way you deal with people like this is you stand your ground no matter what and fight them to the death. If you cede anything to him he only grows stronger and meaner and will hurt you even more. If his bullying doesn't work he has nothing else, he is nothing else.
