What Happened Today

Very quietly and subtly.......we learned something we have been suspecting about the FBI.

By refusing to provide information to a Congressional investigation........the FBI has proven that we can't trust them.....or at least their leadership.

That is so serious that the Chair of the investigating committee dropped everything to report this, in person, directly to the President (who is in charge of the FBI).

The FBI is elevating itself above the Congress......this is unprecedented in American government.

We have a crisis. We may have a rogue agency.

:2usflag:

What a crock of crap. The FBI is about to finger someone and it's not going to be pleasurable.

You still haven't answered "what request you're talking about" Who - which Congressman - asked for what information?
I can't find anything about any congressional investigation asking the FBI for information. Basically right now I'm assuming you're confused about something.

Don't assume. It rarely works well.

Nunes interview CNN today.

About to......about to......

I'm tired of all these predictions from budding prophets.......that never come true.

So what was your point? You asked me who the Attorney General worked for- what was that about?
And why did you say Comey worked for Trump or Clinton or himself? Wouldn't be just hackery, would it?

No, it's simple.

Comey does work for Trump because the Attorney General works for Trump and Comey works for the Attorney General.

Trumps orders come through the Attorney General and the FBI Director obeys them.........unless the FBI Director has gone rogue.

I certainly trust the FBI more than I trust the Republican Congress.

Don't be ridiculous. Our security agencies are prohibited by law from releasing classified information.

If you watched the recent briefing before Congress, which it seems as if you did not, you heard a clear and concise release of unclassified information that others have listed and described in various posts. And you heard Comey state that they report to the Congressional intelligence committees and have given them full reports.

The two men who testified were impressive. They were calm, dispassionate, answered questions succinctly and directly, with no shenanigans. They are professionals at their jobs, serve their country, and are apolitical. Our security personnel put their lives on the line for the country.

There's nothing funny going on. You need to watch the briefing online and get up to speed on the facts. Otherwise, you risk making silly statements like Trump has done. They report to Congress and the DOJ. There's nothing the NSA and the FBI know that others in our government do not know.

What we know:
It has been put to rest: There is not one iota of evidence that Obama or anyone else ever targeted Trump for wiretaps. They looked, and they found nothing.

No President can order the wiretapping of an American citizen.

Great Britain did not wiretap Trump at the request of Obama or anyone else. That is against international law, and there is not one speck of evidence to support that rumor. That lie has hurt our relationship with our closest ally.

There are criminal investigations still going on of Trump's team's communications with Russia over a period of time during the campaign.

Russia did hack the DNC and others for the purpose of interfering with our election.

The FBI and the NSA did not investigate whether voting machines or districts were interfered with by Russia, but they know of no evidence to indicate that happened.

Although an American citizen may not be the target of a wiretap, he may be picked up incidental to a surveillance or wiretap of a foreign entity.

These are pros. We can all rest assured that these professionals will continue conducting their investigation in a professional, apolitical manner, and will go wherever the evidence leads them, whether it leads them to criminal acts by Trump or his inner circle, or to clearing Trump and his inner circle of criminal acts.

So why is the FBI refusing to provide the information that Congress needs? They are mandated to cooperate.

There is no excuse.....no legitimate reason for this stonewalling.

Rogue in what way? What might Comey be trying to do?

Except to Congressional Committees investigating these matters.

Why does the Congress need to know the progress of an ongoing investigation? They need to hold their water until the FBI has something to report.

That's the big question, isn't it?

First he seemed to sabotage Hillary........lately he's been stabbing Trump in the back.

His behavior has been erratic and mysterious........BUT stonewalling a Congressional investigation is not an option for him.

Congress is doing the investigation.

The FBI has information that they have been withholding for two weeks.

Because the FBI doesn't trust Congress either. Nunez just proved them right too.

Wait a minute.

The FBI has the right to withhold evidence from a Congressional investigation????

WHY, pray tell??? It's illegal, you know.

I think Jumping Jack accurately captured the situation.

Nunes had also apologized.

Nunes apologizes for going directly to White House with monitoring claims - POLITICO
