Many of the leading GOP candidates during the campaign including Trump asked the public how they could vote for a president who is under investigation by the FBI. It would cause a problem with the constitution. Well, now we know how it is to have a President underinvestigation by the FBI, but you don't hear a single peep out of the same GOPer's about Trump and his campaign being under investigation. I guess it is just fine if you belong to the GOP. The GOP seems to have plenty of double standards. Look at choosing a SCOTUS Justice. It was terrible to have a president with over a year left to pick a Justice, but just fine to have one under investigation by the FBI to do so. Lets see, worse to have one year left or to be under investigation by the FBI, you choose.

Well, technically they aren't voting for him because he's already in!

But the real problem here was Comey: One candidate was under investigation (Trump), and one was no longer being investigated but had some possible new evidence arise (Clinton). Rather than disclose Trump's or both investigations, for some reason Comey chose to only disclose Hillary's status.

If it was also publicly revealed that Trump and his crew were under FBI investigation, there's no doubt in my mind the razor thin win that Trump incurred would not have happened.

Ummm, not quite.

There is a slight [ read: huge] difference between an investigation that, apparently, has found no collusion, or "coordination" as Comey put it, between the Trump camp and Russians... and what we knew by election time about the crimes committed by Hillary. To be intellectually honest you would have to admit that right off the bat.

You may disagree that she is guilty of any crime, but Comey admitted it. Trey Gowdy went on to pin it down, as Comey had refused to even submit the case to a grand jury to make the proper decsion because he felt that, since nobody had been prosecuted/found guilty of breaking this specific national security and the FOIA laws, that there was no practical use is going forward. Gowdy made the great point asking, basically, if the law, with a stiff ten year sentence, was still in effect, was still the law of the land. You know, the one Comey assured us all that she broke.

It is still the law of the land.

That is not a trial, but that is confirmation of guilt of committing the crime. Whether she would, after going to court and the purchase of the services of a high powered attorney, be found of having been criminally negligent... the outcome yes, is still open to question... but the fact is that we knew by election time that she had, numerous times in numerous and various ways, broken the law.

So, we have a different set of circumstances... big difference

Didn't realize that the 2016 election season was still going on. Thought all those votes were cast months ago. Who's still voting?

First off we didn't know that President Obama had secretly ordered the intelligence community to investigate Trump (wiretap) until after the election. The only thing that we had known prior to inauguration (after the election) was Obama accusing Russia of hacking (which the FBI stated no evidence had supported that claim).

It is very obvious (at least to me) that President Comey (picked by Obama I think) is working for the Democrat Party & should be removed.

Incorrect.

Several intelligence agencies, including the FBI, all agreed that Russia was responsible for the DNC hacks.

On Oct. 7, the Department of Homeland Security and Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued a joint statement on behalf of the U.S. Intelligence Community. The USIC is made up of 16 agencies, in addition to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

"The U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) is confident that the Russian Government directed the recent compromises of e-mails from US persons and institutions, including from US political organizations. The recent disclosures of alleged hacked e-mails on sites like DCLeaks.com and WikiLeaks and by the Guccifer 2.0 online persona are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts. These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the US election process. Such activity is not new to Moscow—the Russians have used similar tactics and techniques across Europe and Eurasia, for example, to influence public opinion there. We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia's senior-most officials could have authorized these activities."

It's post-election redundancy.

First off, Obama didn't order the investigation, he can't so that. If you had been listening or reading you would know that. A president can't order such an investigation. GET THAT INTO YOUR HEAD. Only the director of the FBI can do so and does it only when there is evidence of a crime being committed. And secondly, without Comey and his late message to Congress, Clinton would be president. So you can't blame Comey for what the Trump campaign has done. He is just doing his job, at least in the case of investigating the Trump campaign. And like usual with these political problems, the Trumpsters have caused their own problems by trying to cover things up with lies.
