I never really thought of this. But, it does make sense.

I think you can make a strong case that 77,794 people may well have ended up voting for Donald Trump -- that's the total Trump margin in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, roughly one football stadium -- partly because of Kaepernick's protest. Is it crazy to think that 38,872 people might have even changed their mind for president because of Kaepernick's protest? I don't think so at all.
Colin Kaepernick is unemployed | Outkick The Coverage

And, so too, I believe, does Donald Trump.

Donald Trump takes shot at Colin Kaepernick's free-agent status

Speaking at a rally Monday night in Louisville, Kentucky, Trump said he was reading an article about NFL owners' fears about signing Kaepernick and said, "They don't want to get a nasty tweet from Donald Trump. Do you believe that?"

Trump added that he wanted to share this with "the people of Kentucky because they like it when people actually stand for the American flag."

The showman does know how to capitalize. That is one thing Donald definitely can do better than Kaepernick: capitalize on an opportunity. In short, Trump is a better quarterback--he certainly knows how to hit the open receivers.

I would not be surprised to read someday that some knuckle head protesting the National Anthem is why the USA elected its worst president in history. Not at all.

Could Donald J Trump possibly have better things to do ...

I'm just saying ... :2razz:

And here I thought the Russian's did it.

Trump is simply an opportunist. This is why he switched parties from Democrat to Republican. He saw an opportunity to build a coalition with a disenfranchised segment of the populous and succeeded. The thing to remember is that Trump didn't win the presidency, Clinton lost it. This fact is reflected in the popular vote. Trump plays to his base because he needs the praise that he gets from them. He needs the adoration because he has no clue how to be a leader or a president. He is simply a celebrity that needs a fan base. As far as uniting the country, he is a divider instead of a uniter and as such, he will always be a minority president. Try to remember that it wasn't his base that got him elected, it was the swing voters that are already getting sick of his antics.

The path of the least resistance, uneducated and fearful. ;)

There is method to his madness. He's galvanizing those 37% who stick by him no matter what. It's not a stupid strategy. It doesn't help the country, but it certainly helps Trump.

Which is exactly the point...and why I know he is the worst President in history. "Trump before America."

What's sad is the President of the U.S.A. is a pissant.

If who you voted for is based on the actions of a single football player, you're an uneducated piece of **** that probably would've voted for Trump anyway. This article is total nonsense, we could fish out random **** like this all day and declare it the "one" reason he won. Comey's nothingburger announcement right before the election did far more damage than this crap.

This is one of the many reasons I can't respect Trump in the slightest. All ideology aside, he cares more about his ego and personal glory than he cares about the well-being of his countrymen.

Amazing to see the anti-celebrity crowd embrace their own celebrity. It's like "Yuck, Hollywood liberal elites. But, hey. Let's elect one ourselves. He says what we want to hear."

To some degree yes. He appeals greatly to the high school drop out crowd. That said, I have no problem with the folks that voted for him because they were fed up with how Washington works. I do have a problem with the idiots that defend his lies.

The states he won: all of the South, most of the Midwest; are as was described in the article. Trump vocally opposing Kaepernick's stupid protest while Hillary embraced BLM moms on her stage during the convention certainly did not hurt Trump.

In addition, Colin Kaepernick net worth ($22M) is far greater than the average Trump Voters entire Extended Family and he'll never have to worry about his retirement, pension or healthcare ... or a JOB!

I'm probably right there with ya on that. His message, if we eliminate the scapegoating, has merit. It certainly resonates with most working/middle class people: bring jobs back, cut down on Washington's influence over our lives, secure the border, etc. The problem is that he is full of crap. And, that is what most who support him fail or refuse to see.

Trump is President because he duped millions of desperate and easily duped people into voting for him.

Kaepernick is an American embarrassment. I wish the jerkoff would scurry off into oblivion.

If he actually has that much money, then hats off to him. He'd be a rare football player to not have squandered his fortune, like Terrel Owens, Michael Vick, Chad Johnson, etc.

Remember, the same individual who has the right to own a Firearms to protect themselves, has the right to take a knee in peaceful protest?

My life have never once been threatened by a peaceful protester.

Showman with an exquisite gift for making people believe him, as most con men are wont to be.

The only free speech the Right supports is the speech they agree with. See Tomi Lehran for the latest example of that.

Put yourself in their shoes. Here is a wealthy "showman" who says, "I will make your lives better". It sounds good doesn't it? An overwhelming majority of these folks never followed Trump before he entered politics. As such, they didn't realize that he was to some extent, a major league "rip of" artist who never gave "two ****s" about working class folks and still doesn't. At some point, they will realize that he "fuxed" them over royally, but it will take a while.

Hard for me to believe people can be so naive....but, yes. I have to agree.

The are far more Millionars in the world who has squandered their fortune, than a couple Black Players ...

Know some guys named Bernie Kosar, Mark Brunell and Jonny Unitas ... their skin color didn't prevent them from losing money.

These folks simply "bet the farm" on Trump and have to believe that he will deliver. As such, it will take a 2*4 upside the head, before they will be able to see that P.T. Barnum knew exactly what he was talking about. I get aggravated at times at their incessant need to defend him, but as a fellow American, I do feel sorry for folks so blinded by "hero-worship". Very, very sad.
