Some people rather obviously have an inability to accept complexity. They exhibit zero comprehension of any colors other than black and white, for some, there are only two sides to every competition - as some call it, the My Way or The Hiway syndrome. Sad it is when trying to hold a conversation with a person who constantly fails to accept the concept of complexity - or is the problem that they refuse to accept such concepts?

Progress----ive Theodore Roosevelt created a permanent fissure in the GOP splitting from Taft. The back and forth electing of a GOP president than a DEM one seems to be just a function of our democracy.

But just imagine where we'd be without the progress----ive 17th amendment. GOPs would have close to 70 senators and that is still their plan, to get rid of the 17th.

GOPs were correct to brag that the 2010 and 2014 elections could give them power for the rest of the century. Once they get their voter suppression laws in place with their continued gerrymandered maps, no DEM will get elected president.

Which brings me to dailykos. Once you get past their commentary, their nuts and bolts data on each state is outstanding, a good compliment for me to the green papers. They've already finished presidential vote by CD and are now working state by state on presidential vote by state legislature, which unfortunately shows just how gerrymandered and hopeless some states are.

Needless to say, the next two terms before the 2021 remaps are critical .

Mr Therese Heinz, Ted Kennedy, Boxer and Feinswine, Kohl etc were all members of the fat cat club. Look at Hillary. 110+ million in wealth from "public office". Goofy Bernie apparently isn't as good as using public office to gain wealth as his Democrat party cohorts

Not to derail this thread but my wife and I have a million in assets so I guess I am a millionaire but it sure doesn't feel like it.
I own a one car garage house. Couple cars including a 1990 Honda. No toys such as snowmobiles, jet skiis, motorcycles or RVs.

It is funny as when I was a kid the word "millionaire" gave this illusion of someone riding up in a limo with cash falling out of his pocket. It has kind of lost its luster.

I wonder if Bernie and his wife ride around in a 1990 Honda too?

1) "family values" Bible thumpers who get caught getting hummers in public restrooms or busted with "ho's"

2) Populists or progressives who whine about the rich who are filthy rich themselves -often through public office

3) anti Gun politicians who want to disarm citizens while being guarded and protected by armed security

Can you name a progressive who whines in general about "the rich" and who are rich themselves? Methinks they are complaining about rich politicians who push bills that are not in the best interests of the middle class but which will enrich the already rich. That's not whining about "the rich." That is whining about corruption and behavior and not representing constituents. (Tip: You can be rich and still have concern for others and a sense of fairness and doing what is right.)

Can you name a politician who "wants to disarm citizens"? I don't know of any. I do know of many who want to pass reasonable gun control. Reagan also passed gun control. Most reasonable people do. It's common sense.

You DO know the difference between "armed security" and ordinary citizens walking in the grocery store or going to the movies, right? Our country has different laws applying to some people based on their jobs and the needs of their jobs. Law enforcement can do, and have, certain things that ordinary citizens can't do and have. I can't stop and search your car for probable cause, but law enforcement can. Law enforcement can carry certain weapons in certain places because of their need to do so; they are on the front lines of dealing with dangerous criminals, and are faced with life and death situations daily.

I love the hypocrisy and fantasy land of people who rant about their fear of Muslim terrorists, while everyone on their street is a redneck bubba who goes out every weekend and gets drunk and shoots up a bar, or shoots someone in a road rage incident, or holds up the local 7-11, or accidentally shoots Aunt Martha. 2) Feinswine, Schumer, Clinton, Obama are all gun banners. True, they won't come out and say they want to ban all guns but they all are on record saying that honest citizens shouldn't even be allowed to own some guns and the ones they are trying to currently ban aren't even the ones that are used in most crime. Tell me, if you think we need to ban a style of firearm that is used in less than 2% of the murders, don't you also want to ban the style of firearm that is used in more than 75% of the murders\
