Trump could be the sixth fattest POTUS ever

Remember when Jonathan Chait and Maureen Dowd thought W's commitment to fitness was "creepy" and "psychopathic"? Good times.

The real test of presidential fitness, sloth and manliness is how they throw a baseball. We haven't seen that yet. If Trump throws like a girl I will oppose his re-election.

Wait, wait, wait..... I thought "body shaming" was unacceptable.

Can you even imagine if someone said this about Hillary Clinton?

So PC of you!

USA Presidents - Height & Weight

Not a big deal...just thought I would mention it.

Actually, I find all these comparison charts of presidents to be interesting be it height, youngest and oldest.

Of course it was already known that the Trump supporters would get panties in a wad but that is part of the game.

Trump is fatter than Teddy Roosevelt was. Roosevelt was physically fit and quite active, with quite a bit of muscle on him, and he was in his EARLY 40's when he became Prez. He had been an adventurer and military man, and continued his physical prowess in his later years. He even participated in a boxing match when he was President. Trump...not physically fit or active, not much muscle there, no adventures into jungles or mountains, and certainly never would have faced a bullet or gone through boot camp (there are no silver spoons in boot camp).

This happens to some people as they get older and let themselves go. He looks nothing like the slim, handsome man he once was. Maybe that's partly why he's so angry all the time. He looks in the mirror and sees that the scowl has imprinted itself permanently on once was a handsome face with full lips, now replaced by naso-labial folds and a downturning mouth with jowls and a double chin. And his girth is never shown in public. (I dare not think about what he looks like without a shirt; no shirtless Putin-type photos for Trump.)

I think it's fair game for someone to be judged in the way that he judges others, don't you?

Whenever you hear Hillary Clinton call someone a "fat slob" or "Miss Piggy," let me know. Then we'll critique her physical fitness.

That's easy. No matter how he throws it, he'll proclaim he threw it the best in the world, everyone says so, he's the best baseball thrower in the world. And ye shall believe it, so sayeth Trump.

Its silly... at the same time, if her thunderthighness had won, omg just the thought almost upsets my stomach, where would Cankles land/splat on that chart?

I have yet to read any posts after mine in this thread. But I guarantee you what most of the Trumpbots will say:

- 'Well, Clinton was little better'
- 'It's his business how fit he is'.
- 'no one voted for his fitness level, they voted for his mind/ideas'.

Blah, blah, blah.

If just one would type: 'I am a fan of Trump and it's not a giant deal (about his fatness level). But he should take MUCH better care of himself and it is somewhat of a disgrace how he has let himself go as a representative of America to her people and on the world stage'.

Not holding my breath on that one - of anything like it - from a Trumpbot/fan.

Trump embodies the dumb, "ugly American."

The "ugly" is based more on what he says rather than how he looks.

What about the other Presidents? What did they do to deserve being called out for their weight?

P.S. I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here. I tell my students about Taft being the fattest president that he couldn't even fit in the White House bathtub and they find that hilarious. :)

hey - I would be happy if Trump gained another hundred or so pounds.

I guess you don't know that all sorts of stats are used to discuss and compare U.S. Presidents? Height, weight, age when taking office, eating habits, extramarital affairs, etc.

Have you not read or watched the bios on Taft? His bathtub? About Teddy Roosevelt? His emphasis on physical fitness? His participating in a boxing match when he was President?

These things are all part of who a President was. Obama bios will probably mention his physical fitness, that he played basketball and was a believer in healthy eating and physical fitness; it will state his height and weight.

I read histories and bios and watch documentaries. So I'm used to various stats on famous people. The bios cover their youth, their parents and siblings, statistics, where they went to school, grades, friends, career...bios try to present a complete picture of a person.

A little sensitive about Trump's weight, are you? If only he were that sensitive about the weight of women, huh? Especially those women with no power to speak back. But that's the way he is. "Fat slob" just rolls off his tongue, when referring to a portly woman. I'm guessing that's what he was thinking about Merkel.

She is/was a fat, tub of goo as well.

They are both walking heart attacks/strokes...no matter what their paid off doctors say.

If you are going to run for the White House, if you cannot even take care of yourself - how the hell are you going to take care of a country?

Pathetic.

And I was fat once - so I know what it was like. But unlike those two political losers...I lost the weight. Plus I quit crack, booze, smoking and gambling - all by myself - no help or programs or aids of any kind. If I can quit all those, than those fat ****s can stop packing on the pounds for their country.

That's it. Take the high road.

Where she would be in the list...can't say. She's a private citizen, though, and not President. She's also not obese. (Her ankles are slimmer than Laura Bush's; that's why Bush wore pants almost exclusively. Which is not to be overly critical of her; we all have imperfect bodies.)

Reminder: Neither Hillary Clinton nor Laura Bush would call anyone a derogatory name like "fat slob" or "Piggy," like Trump does. Therein lies the difference. Judge, lest ye be not judged (in the same way).

High road?

You are talking the woman that threw that underaged girl under the bus when she defended the girl's 45 year old rapist and made up stories to help Hillary win her case, that kind of high road... or is it the high road she took when flat out lying about landing under sniper fire in Bosnia... that high road... I mean there are examples after examples of her and BJ not taking anywhere close to the high road... they don't own a map with the high road charted.

Hillary not obese? You kidding me? She is fatter as a woman that Trump is as a man. Obesity = is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health.

Now, we saw from the campaign who appeared in good health and the one that went into a high school gym with 50 supporters and then had to take two days off of the campaign trail all the time... that is when she could stand up [ she have a drinking problem or something ya think??].

Remind yourself: Unlike the Hildabeast, neither Laura Bush nor Donald Trump would pay for play using their position in the government to feather their nests. Laura has too much integrity and Trump has plenty of money.

Get off your high horse lady. We all judge everyday in myriad ways. We cannot help it, we are human. Sorry if it offends you, but get used to it, as the gloves are off and America is going back to the way we like ourselves, truthful and free.

Look on the bright side, with KFC shoved in his mouth, he is less able to say something stupid or possibly less prone to tweet something stupid if he has greasy chicken fingers.

some time ago I told folks here @ DP that Trump was gonna eat like there is no tomorrow because he has no other source of enjoyment

no one wants to be around Trump because he is a caustic lying a**hole

Trump will keep eating & eating & eating & eating & eating until he looks like Jabba the f***ing Hut

And Hillary will never have that opportunity.

Have always thought if one had a millions you could afford to have a private chef prepare the best appetizing healthy food around. There are a number of really great healthy plates but they are often time consuming to make.

Many people working 40 + hours a week and raising a family (without a nanny) got to make quick meals often and it always seems quick = unhealthy.

Basically it comes down to poor self discipline.

LOL...

I wonder how her weight and BMI would class among the presidents?

Your confirmation bias is showing. He would have to be a very intelligent man to get where he has. Just because you don't see his point of view, it doesn't make him dumb.

I think Donald Trump is very intelligent in certain ways. Unfortunately, I don't think those ways tend to make one the optimal choice for President.

I think he's very good at reading people and figuring out the best way to screw them over. He's made a fortune off of that.

Hillary Clinton is 5-foot-5. The top estimate I've seen of her weight is 170 (and that sounds a little high). That would put her BMI at 28.3, or below Trump's (but still on the list in the OP, equal to hubby Bill's, whose BMI has dropped since he doesn't weigh nearly as much now as he did when he was president).

I don't think calling either of them a "fat tub of goo" is particularly accurate, since weight gain is not unheard of for post-menopausal women or aging, somewhat sedentary men, both of whom are either in or pushing their 70s.

We're not talking about morbidly obese people who need chairs to get up the stairs, for pete's sake. BMI is not exact science; it's merely a guideline, and neither Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton is a walking heart attack simply due to their height and weight ratio.

Their "paid-off doctors" are still doctors. YOU'RE NOT.
