He wasn't even listening to her. He was tapping his fingers together like he was bored and wanted to get the hell out of there. I guess meeting with a leader of one of the most powerful nations in the world is boring stuff.

Nothing says that a President of the U.S. has to show enthusiasm when meeting with a foreign leader. Maybe Mr. Trump was bored. So what? I suspect he doesn't think much of Merkel's foolish immigration policy and felt no obligation to show her much more than plain civility. Russia is not about to invade the Baltic States, nor NATO fall to pieces, just because Mr. Trump did not radiate warmth when meeting with the leader of one of our European allies.
