Huntsman as Russian Ambassador

I don't know much about him, but he sounds like a pretty good pick.
 
Yeah...but....after about a month on the jobs....he's going to have RUSSIAN connections!!!

And for RUSSIA?! Color me amazed and pleased. I've always said I'll give Trump credit when he does something I consider good for the USA, and it looks like we got another one. Previous were Mattis and the Flynn replacement.

I liked candidate Huntsman as well. Too bad the sane ones never get out of single digits. Obama didn't go wrong with Huntsman, and I hope he adds more reason to the Trump admin.

Trump's pick are either imminently qualified or ridiculously unsuited or inappropriate for the position. Not a lot of middle ground.

At worst, I hope Huntsman is the canary in the coal mine if Trump/Tillerson try some profiteering angle. Feel free to call me out if I've been fooled.

This appointment isn't as much about Huntsman, as it is about preserving Orrin Hatch.
It wasn't as much about Nikki Haley, as it was about promoting Henry McMaster.

Yes, but I like having a sane actor in the mix where Trump/Russia is concerned.
 
I think that's radcen's guy. I'd love to hear his perspective. Is this something we should be excited about or wary of? If Huntsman is a sane, rational Republican, maybe he can help sort through the insanity.

I'm guardedly optimistic. Where Trump/Bannon/Tillerson/Putin are involved, that's about as good as I dare hope for.
