Sorry ... no Coal Mining Jobs

No floor sweeper or filer in the physicians office either.

All this proves is that the harder and smarter you work, after you get the best education you can, the higher you will advance.

BTW, I'd question at least 3 on the list. 5, 7, and 14.

Good Point - you can either spend 8 years bitching and complaining or you could have had a degree in that same about of time.

No investment is free ... but bitching and complaining can sure coast you a lot of time and money.

Probably depends on where you live.

Some times you have to do something drastic ... like change your address.

There is nothing wrong with having respect for the top 25

But there is something very wrong with looking down your nose at people who are not in the top 25

Undoubtedly. I know that my niece, who is a head nurse (not NP) in a city near Portland, Ore, came out here to Richmond, Va with the intent of relocating, couldn't afford the cut in pay.

I agree ... this isn't a list of the most important or popular Jobs

I thought the same as I read it. I also think that you might find financial engineers further up the ladder.

Same think with my niece, she moved for Fort Wayne to Indianapolis ... not really a drastic move is it's for a carer move.

I got the impression you were sneering at coal miners

Maybe because they voted for trump instead of hillary and the obama legacy of failure

I'm sure this list based on placement organizations and not a poll of people in the field.

My job is number 11 on the list - software engineering manager. It does pay well but I'm certainly not making doctor money. Though maybe doctors aren't making doctor money either any more.

No public school teachers either

I wonder if they at least make more than the coal miners?

No ... but after awhile you can't feel sorry for people like Gas Station Attendants who specialize in Pumping Gas, Washing Windshields and Filling Radiators.

Maybe it's time to actually start smelling the Coffee ... rather than just drink it.

Sorry ... no Coal Mining Jobs

In a modern day large scale coal mining operation 13 of the 25 job titles in the OP are directly involved, indirectly all of them.

Lets not forget the local and regional companies that support this mine with mechanical maintenance, the manufacturing jobs making the parts for equipment, the housing market and tax base that fuels the schools, fire and police departments. Lets not forget the single Mom working as a waitress part time at a dinner to support her kids or the landscaper cutting lawns.

Wait, these folks don’t count, they didn’t install a wind turbine farm that kills endangered bird species at alarming rates, they didn’t install a solar panel made in China that took away an American jobs. They are not a Brewista working a service job at Starbucks making designer coffee blends and lattes.

Has ZERO to do with the subject

But doctors have a lot more expenses than you do. I have some doctor friends who pay tons and tons of money for malpractice insurance, even though they have never had a claim in their careers.

How so? It was your linked list and comment about coal miners. Curious, if you can’t debate a topic why post said topic?

Agreed. And Ob/Gyns apparently have it the worst because it seems if the kid isn't perfect they get sued. Though an Ob/Gyn told me that so your mileage may vary. I also remember having a conversation about medical school with a guy who's a heart surgeon. He said medical school had cost him so much that he went years just barely making ends meet while paying off his loans.

In my case it was just college for 4 years, some grad school - I never finished - and then years of working in the field.

Same here, but I didn't have massive ongoing costs, just staying in business, like some careers do. So I don't begrudge doctors charging what they do. They get screwed six ways from Sunday most of the time.

Sorry ... no Coal Mining Jobs

Curious, would you like to pick out one job title from your linked list and I will show you how its connected to said coal miners or coal mining that you obviously have an issue with? If I do so, you will need to concede you are wrong and just trolling.

Good Point - you can either spend 8 years bitching and complaining or you could have had a degree in that same about of time.

I don't think you fully understand the issue then.

Sure. Those jobs are well paid and have openings. Now. Who is putting in applications? Who is getting those degrees? Why don't you head on down to the local ghetto and see how many schools are preparing the kids for these jobs. Yea. You can work hard, but you also need to work correctly. Not everyone knows the system well enough to get through it.

Especially when you have the idiots of the left telling these kids in the ghetto that their failures are not their fault, just get your hand out there and expect whitey to give you a check.

Something tells me in 2017 there are fewer people pumping gas for a living than there are nuclear engineers. I think the last time I had someone pump my gas was 15 years ago when I passed through Oregon on a road trip. :)
