President Donald Trump on Friday tweeted an old photo of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N) with Russian President Vladimir Putin, writing there should be an investigation into Schumer "and his ties to Russia and Putin."

The photo captures a scene from a 2003 meeting between Schumer and Putin to mark the occasion of New York's first Lukoil gas station opening. The two are shown eating Krispy Kreme donuts, according to the AP photo caption.

The photo has been circulated on conservative news sites over the last few days, after Schumer called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign following revelations that Sessions met twice with Russia's ambassador to the United States before the election.



Schumer responded in a quote tweet, saying that he's happy to talk about his conversation with Putin. :lamo

The sugar in a Krispy Kreme does that to you. You smile like the Joker for 5 minutes then, possibly, stroke out. They do taste good though.

That's because conservative news sites like Breitbart and Fox tell half truths and mislead to rile up their base. #FakeNews

They don't seem to understand that if he hadn't lied about it under oath in a confirmation hearing it wouldn't be an issue at all for him and would just be another piece of wildly coincidental evidence that Trump is somehow connected to Russia. I'm not aware of Schumer ever doing that.
 
So much for that whole grown-up unity thing on Tuesday night.

How long did that "reset" last? 48 hours?

Did Fox run a story on Schumer? Most of Trump's ideas in his tweets have a direct source in Fox News. In fact the Sweden thing began with Fox News.

More like 24. He started yesterday with the "Witch hunt" comments that were echoed by: Ready for this: The Russian propaganda minister.........:)
