So what?
Gee. Seems like directly lying to Congress during a confirmation hearing is pretty significant.
And it seems like declaring you won't recuse yourself from a case that you have lied to Congress about is pretty significant too.
But at least he didn't have a private email server.
He was a US Senator. They meet with envoys from foreign nations all the time. Why is this worth being concerned about? Because it was Russia?
Not quite. He was the ONLY member of his committee that had any meetings with the Russians.
Again, so what?
Whats the lie?
He lied when he said he had no contact with the Russians. In direct testimony.

Thanks for posting that video. That potentially changes things for Sessions. If it turns out that he did meet with a Russian government envoy, then he must resign for lying during his confirmation hearing... he's gotta go.
Not only did he meet him...he met him at the GOP Convention!
How common is it for the Russian Ambassador to attend a GOP convention???

The questioning was with regard to his participation with the campaign. At the time he saw the ambassador he was not with the campaign and was not acting in a capacity on behalf of the campaign.
Considering:
1) he met him AT THE GOP CONVENTION
2) no other member of the armed services committee has met with the Russian ambassador (Claire McCaskill was on for years and said she never met with a Russian ambassador- why would the Armed Services Committee do this at all?)
And
3) this was an extremely hot button issue during the hearing
Leads me to think you are oddly apologetic for his actions. That's a lot of smoke.
Recusal is obviously necessary, and frankly, now he's a legitimate target for the investigation, too.
It's because I'm a Russian spy:roll:
Last night MSNBC ran a 2 hour special about Trump and Russia. CNN, as far as I could tell, didn't report anything but Trump and Russia. The Times and the WaPo were wall to wall Trump and Russia. Why? Because this Sessions "revelation" is in any way damning? No, not because of that. It's ENTIRELY because Trump's speech to congress went really, really well and the media, coordinating with their Democrat allies, felt the need to stop any and all discussion of that before things got out of hand.
The Democrats are willing to submarine the nation as a whole if they think it will get them back in power. They'd rather be leading a burning wasteland than watch the Republicans nurture so much as one rose back into bloom.
