Wil the Democrats boycott the SOTU?

I think they'll either boycott it or boo in response to his talking points or disrupt all the way through.

Frankly, when POTUS gives the SOTU before Congress with the VPOTUS and SCOTUS in attendance? I hope the Democrats STFU.

The speech President Trump is giving is not a State of the Union address, I don't believe. I believe his first SOTU will come next year.

As far as participation, I'm sure the Democrats will act just like the Republicans did during Obama's speeches to Congress and Republicans will act like Democrats did during Obama's speeches to Congress.

I still remember how rude a few Republicans were a couple years back when Obama said, "I have no more campaigns to run" and a few Republicans applauded. That was entirely disrespectful, though the former President handled it perfectly. I hope the Democrats are not as rude as the Republicans were on that occasion.

Me too, he showed great restraint in the face of a disrespectful Brock O'Bama. But I don't think the dems today are capable of respect.
 
I believe Democrats should give Don Cheeto the exact same respect President Obama got from them ... No More, No Less ... isn't that fare?

Yes, I know many children who hold the same view. But don't you think our elected representatives should behave better than a child?

Did you voice your same concerns to the GOP when they acted that way to Obama or did you reward the GOP for their childish actions by electing Republicans and Trump?
 
The Democrats should attend and remain seated and silent when he says something they disagree with. Booing might be ok if he says something really atrocious but that isn't likely since he will be reading from a script.

That is of course assuming Trump remains respectable to them.

It's not a SOTU. It's just some Trump attention whoring. SOTU is in January.

Are you trying to say that, at Thanksgiving dinner, everyone in the family sits down and acts like children because the black sheep uncle does? Because, if so, I'd hate to be at your dinner table.

I know it's hard for partisans to understand, but sometimes "because they did it first" isn't a valid excuse.
 
I wonder how many others actually think that this is a SOTU address?

That said, hopefully there wont be any disrespectful "you lie" comments voiced at this gathering. I do find it very alarming on how our partisan politics have eroded our values and sense of "right verses wrong". We teach our children to tell the truth, but make excuses for our chosen leaders when they choose not too. Sad.
