Trump and the GOP have said that health care will be available for all and they will keep pre-existing conditions. Sounds good until you look at the details. It will be available for all as it was before the ACA. Yes, even then, there were programs that covered everyone. The problem is only if you can pay the cost yourself. None of their plans will provide subsidies. that will mean that most of the 20 million on ACA will lose their health care, but Trump and the GOP can tell their supporters they did as promised. And as far as pre-existing conditions are concerned, well they will be pushed in high risk programs. The cost of a high risk pool in Wisconsin in 2004 was $1,600.00 per person. How many of the high risk people do you think that could pay for a high risk pool updated to todays costs. You are right, very few. SO what happens of we repeal the ACA under the present Trump and GOP plans, well it won't be pretty.
And then we come to the real reason for repeal. I find the answer to be simple, GOP tax cuts. Thata's right, the GOP and Trump want to again cut taxes. How to pay for it without increasing the defict directly has been a problem for them as even their supporters won't go there. So if you cut all subsidies to those persently using the ACA, you can use that safings as an excuse to cut taxes. Ansd who will win with the present tax plan, again the liion's share go to the wealthy. Trump says it is a middle income tax cut plan, but with losing the Head of Household deduction, millions of middle income tax payers will pay more so that the rich can once again be hogs at feeding time. So repeal is another excuse for tax cuts. Remember the Bush tax cuts. Yes, if you don't know history it will repeat itself. Another recession is on the horizon.

Take Americans back to 2008 when people where on 60 Minutes every month complaining about how the Insurance Companies where sticking it to them.

I'm cool with my Insurance, so it's not my problem ... it's Don's Problem.

I would have thought it necessary to know the numbers before arguing that it is good, bad or something else. How much do you think a person should pay for her policy?

How about what they can afford? That might vary a bit, but it seems that the GOP can't even agree on that much.

If you have a couple who are both making near minimum wage, they won't be able to buy even the most basic insurance plan.

I make around 35k a yeak and still can't afford health coverage without the va or re joining the national guard which charged me 50 a month. I need to re look through them, but monthly fees were more than a house and car payment combined last I checked for texas rates.

To make it worse a coworker had his wife sort through insurance, the person who was selling literally told her that her best option was to divorce him and work at mcdonals so her wages would be low enough to get subsidized govt healthcare, which is bad that when you can barely afford a place to stay yet can't afford health insurance.

Some other people I have know around their early 20's have had anything with decent coverage since aca cost between 600-1k a month, which is beyond outrageous as those same rates were going around 150 a month pre aca.

The GOP has never had a plan for health care. What they had was pseudo legislation that they knew would be vetoed by Obama. Now, the onus is on them and they are already failing miserably. Just watch the next few weeks..........:)

Of course different people can afford or want different levels of coverage. As it turned out, lots of citizens didn’t want any. The problem was that they could tell themselves that they could stop by the clinic in an emergency and get insurance, if the went poor or got old.
