That's what the BOEING CEO said this morning after Trump's meeting with 25 titans of industry in a round table about jobs for Americans.

He went on to say that the POTUS understands the burden of needless regulation... of having to go through a half- dozen bureaucratic bodies to build a factory. And how businesses today have opted to build their new factories in other countries who roll out the red carpet instead of red tape.

PS...The carrier CEO said their sales are up considerably since the news came out they were saving 800 jobs thru Trump's initiative. He chalked the increased sales up to patriotism.

I don't have a link. With media bias we see, I doubt it would be reported so optimistically. I got this information by watching the live interviews and round table introductions.

Your thoughts?

... and you expected him to say ... what?

Everyone on the planet has discovered the Key to Trump's good side. :lamo

Don't even need a Good Poker Face to Deal with Trump.

Well, that was nice of him. That's my thought.

POTUS isn't the first one to understand the problem of needless regulations. I believe those establishment Republicans we hear are so terrible have been making that exact same argument for decades.

I'm glad to hear patriotism is causing people to buy gigantic planes. Interesting. Usually Boeing planes are bought because of a need, not to show patriotism.

Speaking of jobs, what are the plans for the Trump family to bring back all of those jobs they've been outsourcing to Asia for all of these years?

No, not planes!
, that was the Carrier CEO who said that. Air conditioners. Hahahahahaha!

As to your question, perhaps you'd like to ask him.

Which is odd because Carrier's parent company is at odds with with Trump over foreign plants.

Bingo. Like they are going to say something different and have to deal with the Twitter attacks and stock price damage.

Trump likes "butt-kissers" and "hero-worshippers". The praise that they heap on him helps to offset his massive insecurities by feeding his insatiable ego.

He is definitely easy to figure out and even easier to manipulate. Putin figured that out rather quickly..................)

Sorry, I didn't see Carrier in that post because it wasn't capitalized. I assumed it had something to do with Boeing.

So people are all of a sudden buying air conditioners because that's patriotic? Interesting. Most people i know who bought them did so because they keep you cool when it's hot.

Trump's been asked, repeatedly. And won't answer. I'm asking your opinion since you brought up how these CEOs say he's the most business friendly President since the....founding fathers. I'm confused how one can be so business friendly when one outsources his own jobs.

Trump is definitely a very business friendly POTUS. Of course, that doesn't mean he is worker friendly in any way. I will say that WV has already started dumping more coal runoff into the water which is a big win for the millionaires that had to work around that before. It probably isn't that good for the people drinking the water, but I do think a lot of wealthy people will become ultra wealthy under Trump.

I'm reporting good news. If you want to make it into a partisan attack in the POTUS, be my guest.

With others.

You have a link on the West Virginia claim? Where is the EPA?

If I am not mistaken, WV has a coal baron as a governor, so I am not surprised.

Nobody will become any wealthier under a Trump administration than Trump and Sons...............:) It was part of the plan.

He should probably tone it down a bit with the hyperbole. Way too early to be making a bold declaration such as that.

I doubt it's due to "patriotism", and more to do with people wanting air conditioning.

So you just want to join in the Trump love fest and not really discuss if he's good for American jobs or not. Fair enough.

My "attack" wasn't partisan. I'm a lifelong registered Republican. My question was fair if we're analyzing him and being friendly to business and jobs.

Still pretty early to be making those kind of broad declarations....

I don't believe you're understanding the statement... if someone were in the market to buy an air conditioner anyway, they would (hopefully) buy 'American' (i.e. Carrier) when they make their decision. Sort of like buying a Ford car, because they didn't take bail-out money.

Make sense?

A coal baron that wasn't a Democrat until 2014. He is a weird WV version of Trump essentially.

So a lot of people have bought air conditioners from Carrier in January and February because of "patriotism"? What are the non-American competitors that they passed over to show this patriotism?

It is definitely one of the areas in which I think Trump could do good things. I just wish he had some empathy for the small business owners at Mar-a-Lago.

It is bullcrap. They build factories where they can pay $3 an hour for work that would cost $20 an hour here. Sure, regulations can be reduced or retooled, but that has an ant's effect on where things are built compared to wage disparities for labor. It is just bluster to win favor with Trump.

I have no idea who or how many, I was attempting to clarify Maggie's statement.

Some other manufacturers TTBOMK, are Samsung, LG, Frigidaire. While many that people may consider foreign, are foreign-owned, but have plants here in the US for assembly (cheaper than shipping, I guess).

People keep mentioning these large corporations in their arguments while small businesses employ 53% of the workforce.

WTF?

Actually Ford along with BMW, Toyota Took Secret Government Money
during the financial collapse and before the auto bailout talks. :

from this article:
In the depths of the financial collapse, the U.S. Federal Reserve pumped $3.3 trillion into keeping credit moving through the economy. It eventually lent $57.9 billion to the auto industry — including $26.8 billion to Ford, Toyota and BMW.
< SNIP>
According to the data, from October 2008 through June 2009 the fed bought $45.1 billion in commercial paper from the credit arms of four automakers - Ford, BMW, Chrysler and Toyota - along with GMAC (the former General Motors credit arm).

Of those, Ford sold the most, with $15.9 billion.

Manure is free and readily available ... the one thing I've learned about dealing with Trump Supporters, they like being lied to and Facts had no place in their world. Donald Trump is the worlds Biggest Bull-Sh!ter, and when you produce as much Manure per/hour as Donald and you have so many hungry and adoring fans ... it would be rude not to feed them their favorite meal.
