REPUBLICANS In IOWA Complaining Because They VOTED For tRump

Talk about suffering that stricken look...

AVlfJAI3jtou_guXr90qrj8D2IdgSTWroZiFFmuEtnNXuO2ttww4EbjV8qFnhfp8A3YZ1ixjl8YJB7ZTi5S4FUGfv25jcHzyAiMXOwE8=s0-d-e1-ft

How is that a 'stricken look?' What it is is you imagining things. These are professional agitators being loud and obnoxious. If there was such a groundswell of support for Obamacare, how is it that the left never tapped into it? The left is now and will, for the next four years, be in a state of perpetual protest. The best thing to do is simply ignore them. Republicans have all the political power in this country and the left is going bonkers over it. Let em rant. Who cares.

Actually the GOP opposed him and he RNC actually came out and said not to vote for him.

The head of last year's RNC is now Trump's chief of staff. This attempt to disentangle the GOP from its leader at this stage is a little bizarre.

Trump is the GOP now.

once he was the nominee then you support the person. Before that though hey were admittingly against him.

arguable... but, if true, we get a guy who triples down on divisiveness. Doesn't seem particularly smart to me.

The break down in logic in your statement is that if people didn't like divisiveness, why would they turn to a very divisive guy? Obama, who you say was divisive, handily won the popular vote, more than 50% of that vote, twice... and still made concessions to the Republicans. This is not divisive behavior. Trump, did not even win the popular vote, yet acts as if he has some type of mandate. That is very divisive behavior.

Obama left office with a near 60% approval rating; Trump, one month into office, has the lowest new POTUS approval ever.

Don't tell us who is divisive.

That might be quite true, except that the perfectly normal reaction to attack is escalation and counter attack. This is so obvious that it was predicted not that Trump would be the one, but that the backlash would be severe. In this situation it would be weird to choose a leader sending a fuzzy message.

It's "spin" to acknowledge that the GOP put forth Donald Trump as its candidate for the presidency? They gave this clown a platform and he's now the leader of their party.

Someday perhaps they'll attempt to disown him but it's a little too early to flush his party affiliation down the memory hole.

The Republicans chose the candidate by a pretty democratic process and much to the consternation of the GOP leadership, if you will recall. And in spite of the fact that the resulting candidate was so antithema to liberals, civil rights activists and social works agitators, they were not able to deliver the votes. Why, they didn't even mobilize enough interest in their causes to get half the population to vote at all.

Depends if he and/or his people worked with the Russians.

Good approach.

Stay with it. Press it hard and daily.

McConnell meanwhile looks in the picture like someone told him his house just burned down.

Republican lawmakers returning home this week to host town halls are being greeted by overflow crowds filled with angry voters and protesters demonstrating against President Trump’s polarizing policies.

And in Iowa on Tuesday, Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley faced harsh questioning from his constituents, including a 62-year-old pig farmer who pleaded with Grassley not to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

“I’m on Obamacare,” Chris Peterson told Grassley in Iowa Falls, where more than 100 people packed a community center. “If it wasn’t for Obamacare, we wouldn’t be able to afford insurance.”

Peterson told Grassley on Tuesday, “Over 20 million will lose coverage. And with all due respect, sir, you’re the man that talked about the death panels. We’re going to create one great big death panel in this country [because of the fact] that people can’t afford to get insurance.”

No he doesn't. He has no expression at all. You are confusing your fantasies with facts.

Yes, the Republicans gave us Trump. That's what I'm saying.

63 million people did not vote for Trump and he won. There are 63 million people having a severe case of sour grapes. They are incensed at the election results and are running around like a pack of wild rabid dogs. Please show proof that the people complaining at these Town Hall meetings were actually people who voted for Trump and not just some of those 63 million people with a severe case of rabies.

You dislike democratic process? Now that is really quite liberal of you. ;)

Your being overworked about McConnell's pained expression confirms the point that Mich et al are getting some unexpected headaches as they see only new swamps filling and backing up on 'em.

The gators are snapping and for sure.

Well let's see...

According to this link to Iowa voter registration in the month of December 2016, https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/voterreg/county.html

There were 9,055 registered Democrats, 8,470 Republicans, and 12,672 Independents as of December 2016 in Cerro Gordo County; where both Clear Lake and Mason City Iowa are located.

It seems there are actually more Democrats and Independent's there than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio. :coffeepap:

Glad you pointed that out; I stand corrected.
Shame on those Independents for voting for tRump.

Constituents of all political affiliations are telling their representatives they want to retain health insurance that covers pre-existing conditions

Your OP post is still a lie. None of the people quoted in the article voted for Trump and complained about Trump or complained that they voted for him. Please quote where "Constituents of all political affiliations are telling their representatives they want to retain health insurance that covers pre-existing conditions". The only person quoted, in the WHOLE article is the vice chair of a Democrat caucus.

Lol it takes high crimes of office.

It then takes a vote in both houses to remove him.
So far he has not done anything to be removed from office.

The two impeachments in American history were political. They were largely prosecuted on rather petty "Trumped up charges" (excuse the intentional pun, I could not help myself). Impeachment, unfortunately, is political. If there were political will, Trump could be removed tomorrow. You can start with any number of violations of emoluments. The Russian connection, which is not yet understood, likely has other exposure areas for him.

The political will will exist once (and if) his approval rating falls into the low 30s or high 20s, then he is toxic politically and would be easy to throw overboard. Conservatives prefer Pence anyway (and, many Democrats do as well). Impeaching Trump in 2018 could set Pence up for a 10 year run in the White House.

He also could be removed via the 25th amendment, again once there is political will.
