97% of what the guy says is a lie Trump is deeply deeply embarrassing
This is what gets to me the most. We (most of us anyway) teach our kids at a very early age that lying is not acceptable. We re-inforce good behavior (being honest) and we punished bad behavior (lying) within the greater context of teaching them right from wrong.
Now, because we have an "unconventional president" telling falsehoods (a.k.a. lying) is now acceptable to his supporters. Yes, we all know that everyone makes mistakes with spoken words, but we also know that when you miss-represent facts in order to make a point that cant be made otherwise, or self-promote you are simply "lying".
Here is a good example of what Trump does: I used to race motocross and have a trophy room with about 100 trophies and plaques. I could tell you that I was a local "hotshoe" and the fastest guy on the track. I could then zoom in on my trophy case and show you some 1st. place trophies to back it up. The problem is that I wasn't the fastest guy on the track. Far from it. The overwhelming amount of my trophies are not 1st. place trophies but seconds, thirds, fourths and even some fifth place finishes. I also raced a few races where I finished dead last.
Now, in the world of Trump, if somebody pointed out my last place finishes, they would be guilty of creating "fake news" and making a "left-wing" attempt to distort my brilliant racing career and discredit my first place finishes. In other words, its a conspiracy.
The bottom line is that when you CONSTANTLY say things that are not true, you are guilty of lying. Simple as that.
