The Truth Doesn't Matter

Is that what you thought I did? I suppose that's understandable. We all conflate the mainstream media and the Democratic Party. They really are one and the same. But no, the point was that when Democrats and the Mainstream media refused to hold Bill, Obama, and Hillary accountable for their lies and acted as if the lies didn't matter then people got the idea that the truth didn't matter. If the Democrats won't hold their leaders accountable for lies and misdeeds then increasingly Republicans, especially Trump supporters, have decided that they won't hold their leaders accountable for lies and misdeeds, either. Because Republicans always lose when they stick to those principles because the Democrats take advantage of that. But no more. Trump and his supporters are using the Democrat's tactics against them, hence the hysteria we hear now from the Democrat/Media party.

Right, yeah....sure. You did not do what you did. I bet you making **** up is all liberals fault too...

Nope, both sides are at fault in this particular tragedy.

When was it that we started realizing that the truth doesn't matter? I mean that people just turned a blind eye when the President lied or did something wrong? It became clear that it was whatever the President could get away with, not what was true.

I think it was with Bill Clinton. He would come out with one lie after another and it just didn't matter to his supporters or the media (but I repeat myself).

Then Obama came along and it was the same thing. Or if he did get held accountable it was too late, the lie had done it's job. Then Hillary and it was the same thing. The media cheered this on and enabled it because they wanted them to win.

It's what you can get away with. The truth doesn't matter. What matters is winning. What matters is having the power.

Trump learned it from them, or he might as well have. Trump belts out one lie, distortion, or exaggeration after another and his supporters don't care. More than that, they encourage it because they want to win, they want Trump to win, and they saw how for the last 2 decades that's the way to win.

I started to get clued in back in the mid/late 80's when I began to constantly run into liberals (I was one) who said that it "would not be productive" to talk about this or that, by which was meant "yes what you say very well may be true (or they would admit that it was true) but people knowing that would hurt the agenda that we are driving so STFU".

I do believe that this was the beginning of the descent into fantasy for the Left. Not sure about the Right, I was not paying much attention to them.
