Trump CAMPAIGN Aides Had Repeated Contact With Russian Officials

WASHINGTON — Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

The officials said the intercepted communications were not limited to Trump campaign officials, and included other associates of Mr. Trump. On the Russian side, the contacts also included members of the government outside of the intelligence services, they said. All of the current and former officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because the continuing investigation is classified.

The officials said that one of the advisers picked up on the calls was Paul Manafort, who was Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman for several months last year and had worked as a political consultant in Ukraine. The officials declined to identify the other Trump associates on the calls.

Mr. Manafort, who has not been charged with any crimes, dismissed the officials’ accounts in a telephone interview on Tuesday. “This is absurd,” he said. “I have no idea what this is referring to. I have never knowingly spoken to Russian intelligence officers, and I have never been involved with anything to do with the Russian government or the Putin administration or any other issues under investigation today.”

Let me get the first couple of comments out of the way... NYT?! Fake News! Obama! Obama reads the New York Times!! Failing newspaper! Sad!

Now that we got that out of our systems...

Mr. Trump is clearly upsetting someone at the very top of our national security apparatus. Now, they're probing Paul Manafort. Paul Manafort who was Trump's campaign manager for a brief time last summer.. has deep ties to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Manafort is accused basically of plain old fashioned corruption and taking money from a Ukrainian political party and not disclosing it to the U.S. This is an ancillary point to my main point..

Trump is hiding something from us and Russia is involved in a major way.

Russia hacked the DNC to give Trump an edge. Trump won votes based on the content revealed in the DNC hack. He may have even won indignant Berniecrat votes. Which is a little like the Colonel eating at a Popeyes, if you ask me.. Russia aided Trump in that way.

During the campaign Russian intelligence were in contact with his campaign manager. Paul Manafort.

Trump puts Rex Tillerson as SoS. Tillerson and Exxon have a 500 Billion dollar oil deal hanging on Obama sanctions on Russia.

Flynn makes communications with Russian diplomat.. saying, "No, no it's fine the sanctions.. don't worry about the sanctions, it's all good."

Trump knew about the DoJ probe into Flynn, evidenced by acting Attorney General, Sally Yates' testimony. Flynn lies to Pence. Leaks come out that Flynn talked with the Russian ambassador. Flynn gets fired. Trump blames everyone else.

So, I see this playing out 1 of 2 ways...

1. Trump is personally compromised and corrupt. He made a deal with the Russians. They get their lifted sanctions for the 500 Billion dollar oil deal with Rex Tillerson. Trump gets either the presidency or the presidency and some kind of compensation. If option 1 is true.. Then see ya later President Trump. No one's surviving that scandal.. Not even Bill "I never inhaled" Clinton.

2. The Deep State is influencing foreign policy from the top down. The Deep State isn't interested in Trump being friends with Putin and teaming up with Putin to kill ISIS. The Deep State is in support of Al Qaeda and ISIS, to keep the war machine churning in the middle east. Weeks before Obama left office, they had a cease fire, peace agreement worked out, so the U.S., Russia, and Syria would cease fire, and go after ISIS and Al-Qaeda together. Well, a week or two later, orders came down from the Pentagon and we launched some drone strikes that killed 100 people. So, the peace deal is off. My source on this is an interview I saw with Dennis Kucinich.

Who exactly are all these unnamed sources? "Former and current" American officials constantly undermining a duly elected President. :roll:

Hopefully they will ALL be "former" eventually. :coffeepap:

Voters in America that voted for Trump could care less about America; all they care about is Trump won, period

they don't care one frickin' bit that OUR nation has been compromised & infiltrated by a tyrannical evil regime via Trump that just so, happens to have thousands of thermonuclear warheads targeted at every nook & cranny of this nation.
All they care about is 'winning' ........ they won ........ LOL ..............

Says, they're protected for anonymity because the ongoing investigation is classified. It could be the intelligence community leaking bad intel to the press.. to foment two things: 1. Fear of Russia and 2. Distrust of Trump (who sees Putin as his buddy and can't stop defending him) I'm not taking sides here yet. I don't think we have the complete picture. The intelligence commmunity and the deep state are ruthless people.. they're the people that destabilized Libya and on whose orders we're now conducting shadow warfare in Somalia.

My question: Why attack the Gray Lady by calling them the "failing New York Times"? I thought Trump was supposed to be pro-business. Why is Trump so obsessed with his own news coverage? He should turn off the TV and govern the nation!

I get the distrust of "unnamed sources", but they have been a mainstay of journalism for centuries. There have been a **** ton of accurate stories credited to unnamed sources.

So far in the Russian posse you have Flynn, Tillerson, Manafort, and Carter Page. Page is a relatively new name to me. I vaguely recall seeing his name over the past year or so..

Carter Page worked as a strategist on the Trump campaign.. he denies having contact with Russian intelligence officials as well.

Page, also the founder of an energy investment firm with business interests in Russia, said he was not in regular contact with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign.

I've got three of them. I was stationed in Karlsruhe Germany in the mid 80's.

Does it bother any Trump supporters out there that Trump knew about Flynn's Russian connection?

Does that mean that he possibly could have known about Manafort's?
