Trump just gave a weapons-grade crazy press conference

Starts about 27 minutes late.

:popcorn2:

donald-trump-tweets-2012-1478856552.jpg

Is it important that it started 27 minutes later than they said it wold start?

i know, I know, the typical "Republican is dumb" boiler plate....

He went to the NY military academy, then got a degree from Wharton in economics. call him alot of things, dumb wouldn't be one of them.

Did you actually watch the thing? yes or no.

Education is only valid if it is a leftie.

Obama was well educated even though he couldn't speak without the teleprompter, and he still added a whole lot of Uhs when he was reading.

I wonder if his speech writers actually wrote in the Uhs.

The sad thing is it wasn't a meltdown. It was purely a performance for his supporters, nothing more.

Yeah, I notice the Right Wing sites are all fawning over the presser as if he gave the Gettysburg Address.

Trump is a genius. The media can rake his people over the coals, but he can't do it back? Its about time they got a taste of their own medicine. Everyone discusses the media as the fourth branch of government "they're needed to put a check the powers that be"...but whose is criticizing them? No one. Did Trump hurt their feelings? Awww, too bad. They can slander our President day and night, but they can't take a taste of their own medicine. Everyone can see how the media spun this whole Russia angle without any evidence. Good for Trump not allowing the media to start WW3. Trump's the only sane one in the bunch!

Golly! The POTUS has been slandered? By whom? When?

You know nothing.

He also had 5 deferments from Vietnam

An idiot with a degree is a degreed idiot.

Did you watch it?

That is what I thought about Obama for the past 8 years and couldn't for the life of me figure out why people said he was intelligent.

That is what I thought about Obama for the past 8 years and couldn't for the life of me figure out why people said he was intelligent.

His arrogance was his largest liability.

I didn't catch all of this, but on the parts I did tune into I can say that it was one of the most uncomfortable, combative and insane things I've ever seen.

Full video. Fair warning: if you're desire is to go about your day in the comfort that reasoned minds are in control of our nation, you should probably not watch it.

Full Replay: Trump Combative Press Conference With Reporters | Video | RealClearPolitics

I find it refreshing that we finally have a president who will directly confront the lame stream media. The media gets offended when they are not allowed to control the narrative of any breaking news.

I'm just happy that we have a President who'll finally stand up to Jewish reporters asking how he feels about rising antisemitic threats.

He spent years accusing Obama of lying about his place of birth, and he's going to cry about unfair questions?

Today's press conference was not between Trump and Obama, it was between Trump and the media.

Apparently, now that an R is in office, conservatives suddenly have a new-found respect for the office and want everyone to forget the last 8 years.

I have always respected the office, however I had no respect for the previous occupant, at least in his second term when he decided to take a bowel movement on the Separation of Powers.

He made the BBC evening news with just a hint of badly-hidden disbelief at what they were watching from the presenter.

But then we do not lose any sleep over what the BBC audience thinks of any US president's press conference. Having said that, I do congratulate the brits on voting "yes" on the Brexit referendum.

You certainly didn't, you had an agenda and decided to start a thread on the Trump press conference without even watching it all. Pitiful! I did not watch it until I read through the first few pages of comment by liberal/progressives in DP. I thought, wow, this must have been a disaster for Trump! It was exactly the opposite. Trump spent the first 25 min (after a 27 min delay) discussing policy issues including Obamacare, tax reform, immigration reform, and regulatory relief. He made only passing comments regarding the dishonest press during his opening response. As questions started 50+ minutes into the press conference the press proceeded with their usual efforts to embarrass and play gotcha. They dwelt on the Flynn "firing" and were appropriately put in their place by Trump. They continued on with their narrative on Russia; the one thin thread they have to try and discredit Trump. He dealt with this very clearly. Nonetheless, they, and especially the reporter from CNN persisted. They pressed him on his aside (as he is prone to do) on the electoral college win margin. Was this really the most important subject to their readers? No, they have nothing else. They only hope to try and embarrass him. It didn't work.

I caught part of it on my way to work and was shocked at how quickly he veered off topic.
Simply not true. You should watch it all. He didn't put up with the press gotcha questions but he remained on topic.

He spent years accusing Obama of lying about his place of birth, and he's going to cry about unfair questions?

He responded to questions posed by the press. Just the facts.

He made the BBC evening news with just a hint of badly-hidden disbelief at what they were watching from the presenter.

That is their agenda as he eluded to during the conference.

Rambling, incoherent, crazy, psychotic, embarrassing, idiotic, self-centered, ridiculous, unbelievable, childish, selfish, mind-numbing, clueless, desperate, foolish, full of lies and way out where the busses don't run.

What's ****ing moron.

You may have not liked the content or you were mistakenly watching yourself in the mirror. That is: "Rambling, incoherent..."

No solutions, just mindless rambling.

Yep, it was just the mirror.

...

Every question I saw him take he insulted and call names to everyone he didn't like, mostly reporters and their profession. And then he was so delusional he talked about how he's not a 'divider'. lol

He's ****in nuts. Period.

He responded to the questions they asked. With few exceptions they did not want to discuss his policies and preferred to continue the tit-for-tat. Their loss.

Trump is a self-centered uneducated moron.

...
Ibid.

Besides the more obvious lies & braggadocio, I'm at a loss to understand his logic in the statement where he claims:

"The leaks are real, but the news is fake!"

Wha?? :doh

If you had watched the whole thing you would have understood this statement as there was a follow-up regarding this. Instead, you chose to read the headlines in the MSM or simply prefer to carry on this false narrative.

I stopped reading your post at the first bald-faced lie.

It's like you guys live in another dimension.

Always substantive input from Kobie.

...The one small thing, the jewish reporter lied about "an easy question" then proceeded to ask his question.

Trump tells Jewish reporter to sit down and be quiet | Washington Examiner

I actually think trump thought he was trying to call him anti-semetic and I think it was a misunderstanding. ...

Again, you have read the headlines and ignored the context. The "jewish reporter" was asking a long winded, rambling question towards the end of the press conference. The headline provided by the Washington Examiner was followed by "I've got it." (i.e. the question) I am not sure he even said "...and be quiet", but I could be wrong.

Which, if I had to guess, was the goal of his approach: to Gish gallop everybody with hostility, lies and just pure insanity.

Your opinion, not an accurate assessment. He was very calm and reasoned and this press conference was a refreshing exercise of transparency and honesty.

After this press conference.....

If there is any doubt left in your mind, that our new Dictator In Charge isn't bat **** crazy, then you got bigger troubles than worrying about Trump. You need to get your own head checked.

Un-freakin'-believable. And the whole world was watching. :3oops:

Sheeeesh..................

He said Wikileaks doesn't leak classified data.

He was obviously referring to the information from Wikileaks regarding Hillary Clinton. That was not classified information. But spin it how you like.

Your opinion, not an accurate assessment. He was very calm and reasoned and this press conference was a refreshing exercise of transparency and honesty.

The article listed seven things that stood out in particular to the reporter. For me, in particular, Trump...

  • said that while the leaks coming out of his administration are real, the news stories being written about them are still fake news.
  • falsely claimed that his electoral college victory this past November was the biggest since Ronald Reagan’s.
  • said he was fine with WikiLeaks because it never leaked classified information (demonstrably false).
  • dismissed GOP town hall protesters because most of them are Democrats.“They are not the Republican people that our representatives represent.”
  • insists that the alternative to getting along with Russia could be “nuclear holocaust.”
  • told a Jewish reporter who asked him about rising anti-Semitism to sit down.

That all sound fine to you?

I saw the last 20 mins. I was in shock.

And as I said in another thread. I was surprised none of the reporters there didn't tell him: FU.

Every question I saw him take he insulted and call names to everyone he didn't like, mostly reporters and their profession. And then he was so delusional he talked about how he's not a 'divider'. lol

He's ****in nuts. Period.

It's amazing how all of you libruls are getting twisted in knots over Trump refusing the kiss the main stream media's ass.

He was obviously referring to the information from Wikileaks regarding Hillary Clinton. That was not classified information. But spin it how you like.

I choose not to read his mind because all manner of terrible and dark things may be found in there. I'll just stick what he says and does. And he said that Wikileaks doesn't release classified data, which is also hilariously untrue.

He does seem to be fine with Wikileaks releasing illegally attained information, which is funny in light of current events. But if that's a hill you want to die on that's your choice.

As you just spun it .

It was raw. And it was effective. Best dang presser I have ever watched.

I posted in another thread-
I think there will be one line that will become famous from his presser. “To be honest, I inherited a mess. It’s a mess,”. “At home, and abroad, a mess. We’ll take care of it, folks. We are going to take care of it all. I just wanted to let you know, I inherited a mess.”

I agree. He did not play the usual politically correct game. He was direct and to the point. The media has in so many cases attempted to control the narrative of anything that goes on in Washington DC to the point that they often tell outright lies. Trump is not afraid to call them out on that.

The MSM isn't used to getting called out like this. They don't know whether to ****, or go blind over the fact that they're quickly losing power.

I am not American and dont pretend to be glued to CNN or Fox

However, I have heard the criticism of the MSM and actually watched a bit of it yesterday.

With the exception of a couple of paid consultants to the major parties, most of the commentary was pretty balanced with the major criticism being a lack of transparency on some issues (e.g. Flynn) but they also emphasized that this wasnt unique to the Trump administration.

From the little I've seen, it's pretty clear that Trump is simply deflecting attention and as this holds water with some of his followers, he will continue to do it.

Trump is a self-centered uneducated moron.

It was easy to see if one listened and is intelligent.

He is a college educated and extremely successful businessman who defeated one of the most politically connected politicians in the last 25 years. You may not like his politics or his style, however to refer to him is self defeating.
