As you might expect, I do. I know I drive many of you on the other side of the aisle absolutely crazy, but I really believe there is an organized effort to overthrow the presidency... not by people like us who have strong opinions, but an organized effort in the shadows, if you wish.

A whistle blower is one thing... and should be protected at all costs. And there should be an easy and confidential way of reporting wrong-doing. But...

These anonymous sources? Are they real? Are they made up by the media? Remember the supposed leaks about the phone conversations the President had with several world leaders? The gist of which was denied by both foreign leaders? Is this good for our country?

If sources in the White House are making **** up, they should be gone. If the media is making **** up, they should be called on it. If people within the White House are secretly leaking confidential information, they need to be gone. The safety of our country is involved.

What do you think? Is it possible to be nonpartisan on this issue or will the usual suspects give their flip drive-by pat answers and smugly move on?

Edit... Sorry, I asked for the wrong number of choices. Thus, no Other.

I'm not liberal or conservative, so I cannot vote. But I do believe that things should be prosecuted that are criminal. On the other hand, we must have a methodology for whistle blowing.

Yeah, I'm really sorry I messed up on that. Thank you for weighing in.

Seems the paranoia train is gathering speed.

The "think about the children" meme has now morphed into "the absolute safety of our precious country is at stake".

Lifetime Indie/NPA - I didn't vote.

The WH leaks are a WH problem. It seems like someone on Trump's team (maybe more than one) are trying to poison the Trump well. HE/THEY need to deal with that. I don't think it's a media manufactured problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if the media were spinning or exaggerating things. They NEVER do that.

To paraphrase Dr Kissinger, you have to be crazy not to be paranoid in Washington. ;)

I think it all depends on transparency. If this Whitehouse was known for its transparency and telling the truth, I would agree with you about the leaks. The problem is this Whitehouse is not known for the truth. It almost seems that they tell lies when the truth would be better for them. Anyway, the only way we seem to get any truths oout of this Whitehouse is by the leaks. I think it is interesting that the GOP won't investigate who else knew about Flynn and when they knew it, but are going to investigate the leaks which lead us to know about Flynn.

Those anonymous sources are the ones that leaked that Flynn had discussed sanctions with Russia correct? I highly doubt the media is making this stuff up, there's too much stuff to report on as is. No need to make stuff up.

But if someone in the whitehouse is leaking info, of course it should be investigated. And the worrisome stuff they are leaking and all of this dubious Russia **** should also be investigated.

Oh, they're making stuff up... The protection afforded by the First Amendment lets them be like kids in a candy store reporting on a POTUS they despise. Just my opinion, of course.

As to Flynn, the FBI reported on it, as I understand. But I could be wrong.

This is a problem with an unprofessional environment. Funnily enough, Flynn is one of the people you might have expected to know how American politics work. Covering up in that kind of job is just too dangerous. And lying to your own team?

Nine current and former officials, who were in senior positions at multiple agencies at the time of the calls, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.

I guess they could be FBI people, but either way this was leaked and the media that reported on it VIA "anonymous sources" were telling 100% the truth. Unlike...
Trump says he's unaware of reports Flynn discussed sanctions with Russian ambassador - CNNPolitics.com
President Donald Trump said Friday afternoon he was unaware of reports that his national security adviser, Michael Flynn, may have spoken about sanctions with the Russian ambassador before the inauguration.

As of Friday our asshole in chief was lying, claiming that he hadn't heard of reports that Flynn had discussed sanctions. Thats your great guy thats going to fix the country. Willing to lie because his supporters could care less about honesty.

White House was warned about Flynn's discussions with Russian ambassador, sources say - The Portland Press Herald
The acting attorney general informed the Trump administration late last month that she believed Michael Flynn had misled senior officials about the nature of his communications with the Russian ambassador to the United States, and warned that the national security adviser was potentially vulnerable to Russian blackmail, say current and former U.S. officials.

The message, delivered by Sally Q. Yates and a senior career national security official to the White House counsel, was prompted by concerns that Flynn, when asked about his calls and texts with the Russian diplomat, had told Vice President-elect Mike Pence and others that he had not discussed the Obama administration sanctions on Russia for its interference in the 2016 election, the officials said. It is unclear what the White House counsel, Donald McGahn, did with the information.

Trump and his crew have known about this for a month. But they weren't gonna do anything until it leaked out. The most dishonest white house in modern american history, and not even a month in.

I think the leaks are real but politically spun. The issue of one of the leaks was the difference in a partial transcript that was leaked to AP, WaPo and CNN. The transcript CNN was given differed from the transcript that was given to WaPa and AP from the same person. The events in the transcript that was leaked to AP and WaPo were total fabrications that were denounced by three governments. Mexico even accused AP of flat out lying.

If the president is negotiating with another country, such as N. Korea or China, the leaking of his negotiations to the press would be a serious intelligence breach. That person should go to jail, for a long time.

As you might expect, I do.

The best defense is a good offense, eh?

Nevermind the years and years of hysterics from the right about Clinton's email server. Nevermind that Flynn did something far worse. Let's try to protect Trump by attacking anyone and everyone who might possibly of helped us learn about Flynn's far worse action.

Christ.

I know I drive many of you on the other side of the aisle absolutely crazy

Forget about what's best for the country. Let's just troll the other side, wooohooo!

The more people that consider that some kind of accomplishment, the less we deserve democracy.

Leaks are part of Washington. They simply are going to happen, and they are hardly unique to Trump. Obama dealt with it, Bush dealt with it, Clinton dealt with it, and so on and so forth. Complaining about it only when some one you like is in the White House is silly and mindlessly partisan.

With that said, any leaks of classified information, or that involved illegal means to attain that information, that should certainly be investigated by law enforcement agencies. And Trump has the ability and right to run his own investigations into other leaks.

Oh, and making Trump look bad is not trying to overthrow the presidency. Less hyperbole please.

Isn't it interesting that all those who bothered to vote voted "yes?"

Your hyper-partisan slip is showing. At least I admit mine, Mr. Person.

I do my best. Sometimes I fail.

One thing at a time!
I'm still waiting for an investigation into the rogue elements of the FBI in the NY office who helped turn the election to Trump's favor.

They probably already have.

Have any of the leaks contained classified information? If yes, then the FBI should investigate. If not, then no, that isn't a job for law enforcement.
