Youtube clip about how meaning of progressive changed

I do not think you understand definitions of conservative and progressive, in lamens conservatism is to conserve, to keep the same, progressivism is to progress, to bring about change and move forward.

I understand what the words mean fine, but you don't appear to know what conservatives and progressives actually ARE in the real world. You're getting stuck on labels that are designed to act as a form of propaganda and messaging and ignoring the actual people that call themselves those labels.

If conservatives were always for the status quo then it would mean they stand for nothing.
If progressives were always for change then it would mean they stand for nothing.

If you were correct beerftw it would mean that both conservatives and progressives are liars and idiots.

Funny. Wasn't it the conservatives of the country that elected Trump, a candidate that broke all the molds, and was a proponent for huge changes?

Seems that defining conservatives and progressive strictly on the basis of wanting change or status quo isn't really a good means to measure by.

And yet we voted for Trump, who wants none of those things.

Really? You Trump voters are gullible aren't ya?

Sessions for Attorney General - too racist to be a federal judge

Tom Price for Sec Health and Human Services - not corrupt, has admitted to insider trading, but has advocated for the ending of Social Security and Medicare during his entire public career

Scott Pruitt to head EPA, an agency he has sued multiple times on the behalf of fossil fuel companies. GOP led Congress just erased the regulations which stopped coal mines from dumping waste into public waters. That's in the first month of this administation

Trump is vague on the minimum wage, at one time commenting that he thought a lower wage for workers younger than 21 would be a good idea but has made no proposals.

Obviously, the Trump people have not openly advocated for racial discrimination but one should look at the fact that almost all neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups endorsed his candidacy.

Yup speaking for myself, there are some positions i am loberal on but i can not identify with the left because of the things he identifies in that video.

I dont agree with the prolife position, the war on drugs, expanding our military, i disagree with Christianity in general, yet i mostly vote to the right because imo the bad coming out of the left is far more dangerous than any of the disagreements i have with the right.

Fair enough.

I find myself disagreeing with far right about as much as I find myself disagreeing with the far left. I keep wondering what's happened to the middle.

That's because it's ignoring some basic truths of ideology. Ideologies actually stand for things, which means they have goals and places they want to go. Once they reach those places they are content and stop moving, but before that point they're full on charge ahead with change.
