Trump's always a little over the top in his retaliation to obstacles. he is, however, normally the winner in these battles. same situation here. Judge's ruling will be overturned and Trump wil get what he wants

I am not a "Trump Supporter"; I am a Conservative. I support (generally) Conservative policies, and am willing to applaud the Trump administration where it does well, and castigate them when they do wrong.

I have a problem with this tweet for the same reason I had a problem with Obama snidely attacking the SCOTUS at a SOTU - it's unpresidential and petty. Both men should have been better, for the sake of their office.

Most posters know I am a fairly staunch supporter of President Trump. And there are many of us here. How does everyone feel about his Tweet calling a U.S. district Judge a so-called judge?

I think it's small-minded and disrespectful. You?

I already know how No President Trumpers feel, but I didn't want you to feel excluded. But I'm most interested in his supporters.

Thanks.

I have been told, rather repeatedly, that like it or not, Trump is my president. And it is true, I don't like it, but he is all of our president. But there is a necessary corollary that goes with that: We are all of us Trump's employer. He works for us. The president should not be out there calling other American's names(that includes Obama, who did it too on occasion and made me grind my teeth, and Clinton, and most every other politician). He should be working for us, not insulting us.

This case(much like the last time he shot off about a judge) is especially egregious, as the judge in question is one hell of a guy, even if I am not a fan of his politics(Bush appointee and known as a conservative). Here is a nice little story on him: https://www.yahoo.com/news/called-judge-derided-trump-known-fairness-youth-000802555--finance.html?ref=gs

A graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and Georgetown University Law Center, Robart spent 30 years in private practice at the law firm now known as Lane Powell, before being appointed to the bench by Bush in 2004.

Adkins said Robart and his wife have no children but have been foster parents to several immigrant children over the years, primarily from Southeast Asia. Robart could not be reached for comment.

The judge served in the past as the president of the Seattle Children's Home and was a former trustee of the Children's Home Society of Washington, according to his official biography on the federal court website. Those organizations provide mental health services for at-risk youth and help troubled families.

The man is qualified and experienced. He is not "so called", he is a judge. We all owe the president a certain amount of respect, if only for the office. But that goes both ways, and Trump needs to learn to respect those Americans who might not agree with him.

Some one wrote a eulogy to Nixon(I forget who), where they said in part that his great strength was that he went after his enemies with great vigor. His greatest weakness is that he sometimes thought other Americans where the enemy. They are never the enemy, they are at most the opposition. Something I again with Trump would learn.

I love it when he does this ****. It makes him look like the immature twit he is. The sooner the masses turn on Trump the better. I want him to regret the day he was elected POTUS.

Trump 2020 !!!!

If he had simply left out the words "so-called" the tweet would have been fine imo. But with it I'd have to say that its not very Presidential. Stupid really. Is it immature? That's debatable. That type of comment has been seen here lots of times here at DP. By people from both sides of the fence. Somehow I've got a feeling that when posters here at DP act that way they don't consider it "immature". They consider it justifiable.

I don't have a problem with Trump's tweets.

Why would anybody hold him to a higher standard than any other politician? I mean, Congressmen who don't like Trump have been saying worse things about him and everyday citizens have been positively outrageous in their remarks...even going so far as to openly calling for assassination.

In any case, that judge has shown himself to be an opportunist...a quality not very desirable in a judge. He made a very poor case for his ruling that is certain to be struck down. I see him as grandstanding, at best. Yes, Trump is correct. The guy is a poor, so-called judge.

Did you really just ask how you can hold the person in the highest office in the land to a higher standard? All the while whining "but they do it too"?

There is hardly EVER a poor case for a temporary restraining order. Just ask judges in domestic court. Those who want respect had better well show it.

Sorry, but your spin is deficient.

I simply suggest we all afford our President the same rights and consideration we afford to any other politician...or citizen.

We allow all of them to be assholes. Does not mean we should not call them on it. And saying we should not hold the holder of the highest office to a higher standard is really contorting yourself to spin things.

So let's all have a politically correct hissy fit over 2 words......

While who knows how many people with ill intent cross into the country...and even if zero of those (yeah, good luck with that), will put a burden on taxpayers who are already struggling.

This house will fall. I hope those who willfully rotted the foundation are crushed by it.

This WAS a poor decision. It is not even slightly comparable to domestic court cases.

As far as your "respect" remark...it works both ways.

Have you called Maxine Waters an asshole? Have you called Pelosi an asshole? Did you call Obama an asshole when he publicly rebuked all of the Supreme Court Justices during his own State of the Union Address...to their faces?

Or, do you just reserve that term for our President? Or maybe you just don't like the fact that he uses Twitter instead of the mainstream media.

Yes, I am sure a Bush appointed judge who was confirmed with 99 votes needs to "grandstand".

shrug...

The shoe fits...and he seems to be okay wearing it.
