I see a lot of right leaning people claiming "you're going to have deal with Trump for eight years". Why do people automatically assume he's going to win in 2020 ?

I believe that in order to win 2020, Trump will need at least 5 things :

1) Enact policies that help the middle class & small businesses
2) Keep at least some of his promises
3) Maintain the illusion that he's "anti-establishment"
4) Avoid huge conflict of interests
5) Be against a untrustworthy D candidate with at least half as much scandals as him

So far his only hope would be to face HRC in 2020 again, otherwise I don't see how he'll pull off a second mandate.

Don't get me wrong, I really hope the policies he enacts will revitalize America's economy & that the people will really benefit from it. So far however, it's not looking too good though.

I believe it's way too early to claim Trump will be president for 2 terms. Maybe the people who claim otherwise can share their insight ?

Cancellation of TPP the way it was done has Putin and the Chinese rubbing their hands and the EU already preparing a sales initiative to fill the gap we are leaving. If Trump continues on this vein, we will be in recession in 2020 with jobs hanging on public infrastructure projects and consumers in the doldrums.

He doesn't have a 1st mandate.

Trump lost the popular vote to Clinton by over 3 million.

should be an option of under 1 term. His ethics and conflict of interest issues have not gone away.. in fact they have become worse.

This gig will not be enough fun for Trump in his twilight years, he will move on to better things.

It depends.

Too early to tell.If he does most of the things he campaigned on he could win another term. Democrats could run another candidate just as lousy as Clinton is and it might not matter what Trump doesn't accomplishes his first term. Or democrats could run somebody awsome and it doesn't matter what Trump gets done his first term. Or there could be a popular right leaning 3rd party candidate that takes votes away from Trump or a popular left leaning 3rd party candidate that takes votes away from the democrat nominee. Or our expectations of Trump could be so low that he doesn't have to accomplish much and win another term.

You honestly think Trump became president because it's "fun" ?
And you voted for him ?

You need an option for LESS THAN A FULL TERM.

You need an option for more than two terms! Trump is going to be the best President America has ever had. It's so sad that America has never had Trump's bigly knowledge before, so sad. We need to make this a permanent thing, drain the swamp forever so I have signed an executive order to make me lifetime President.

Ha, you beat me to it. I was going to say he becomes dictator for life.

If he doesn't start an unnecessary war, I think he gets a 2nd term.

EDIT: lol, On Fox they said Hillary was reviewing the reasons why she lost and the possibility of her return to politics. How hilarious would it be if she ran again in 2020.

I really hope he does the full term. Because Mike Pence is completely insane.

You could well have a solid point. However, I have found it wise that when one is walking down the country road and sees two piles of horse dung in his path, one need not get down on hands and knees sniffing to see which is the most offensive.

I have found that I'd rather cross a urine river on a dung-raft than drown in golden splendor.

That image made me laugh. Good job.

So with Trump and Pence.... which is the urine river and which is the dung raft? ;)

Ya think that your man crush will ever wear off?

I waited 20+ years for someone to take up the cause, and then when Trump did it he was even more amazing than I thought possible, so even if he bombs as President he will have my enormous respect. The only way that goes away is if he becomes that freedom hating tyrant that his haters have him as, which is to say that I am wrong about him, which is very unlikely to happen.

Why do you think he is VP, it makes one think long and hard before removing the one in the oval office, would we be better off or not, usually Not.
