The war between Trump and the media rages on.

Sean Spicer, White House spokesman, says media has obligation to tell the truth - Washington Times

I started a good thread that this link would compliment, but the thread has mysteriously vanished. The thread where I would have posted this article link was called "Why lefties are losing" though, if anybody is interested. The thread about why lefties are losing talks all about the media war that defines today's political landscape. I suspect that "Why lefties are losing" has vanished has something to do with this very media war.

Who do you guys think will win the media war, Trump, or the lefty media?

It's tough to say who will win, but it seems obvious that Trump is not going to sit back while the media spins every action he takes in a negative light. The legacy media constantly dictates to Trump that he needs to unify the country; meanwhile they are constantly attempting to sow discord and division. They can't have it both ways and I think the public at large is aware of that, which is one of the reasons Trump won.

In the end, Trump, as that reflects the majority of the people. I don't believe the media is going to give up their effort willingly, but there may come a time when economics forces their hand.

I imagine the media will try to wear the people down with the usual blather and biased whines, but given the level of trust polling shows the people have in them, the smart ones will make some changes.

I think this nails it. They still have some more fight though.

I thought you bid us a fond farewell?

Indeed. I do not know when they will be pulling the plug on me. This could be the last post, or I may be a thorn in the side of lefties for another month. That is why I did the farewell thread. I don't have any plans to change my righty rhetoric, so my math and physics knowledge suggest that it won't be long. I get in trouble when I provide links to other threads here on the forum, so I won't post any links to the thread entitled "Farewell, it has been fun".

I guess I can't really say that I am going to continue speaking freely, and then self censor the link to the closed thread.

I think it will be a draw. The press secretary is trying to make nice. I think the press appreciates that because I think they've taken some heat. We may be on the road to a truce.

This seems interesting. Perhaps they will just equal out over time, as each of them sizes up their opponents and explores the boundaries.

If we are talking about our rap sheets here on the forum, I bet you are winning less than me.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that. I just prefer to hide my bruises.

After the first 7 or 8 thousand posts, (and a few years reading everyone else) I eventually came to learn to just conform to the rules. I get a lot more done that way.

But, being a free thinking person, as hard as I try to filter, I often fall short. :(

It's like driving down a country road at night, and you're driving your very best, and SPLAT!

A big fat june bug hits the windshield.

It happens to the best of us.

Sadly truth has taken the back of the bus in Trump administration. this is clear when they use words like Alternative fact, kelly-Ann actually said that. Also a bit ironic when Sean Spicer rushes out spewed whole bunch of lies and storms back in not given the media chance to point out the lies.

Democracy and freedom of the press goes hand in hand, once you limit one, you will limit the other. And Captain thin Skin clearly can't handle opposition voices. He is so badly bubbled wrapped and so desperate for positive affirmation about him (so huge daddy issue) and so visceral toward criticism that he does disproportionately lash at anything and anyone who criticizes him that is a dangerous precedence for POTUS.

I hope so.

Folks of every walk of life are getting pretty bummed out with all this alternate fake news stuff.

I think one of the problems is that Americans want a distinguished, level-headed, intellectual, cunning, personality representing the highest office in our land.

This Trump guy is freaking everybody out.

Hey! I thought we had something special.

;)

Yea, It is probably a tie. You are the other lefty who can see past partisan lines. We need a lot of friction between the two opposing sides who are engaged in this political war in order to generate enough traffic for a decent political site, but we also need a couple solid rocks like you and Captain America. I will never be able to conform to rules that favor my political opponents, so folks like me come and go, or in my future case, get sent.

You are one of the guys who inspired my signature.

I would strongly suggest learning how to keep score of BOTH of the two sides. If you only keep score for the media, and not for Trump as well, you will not be aware of what is really going on. That's why the left was completely blindsided when Trump won. The Trump train was running hard with the air horns blasting, but the left was deaf to it. You don't have to like Trump, but if you want to be well informed, keep track of his score too.
