It seems now we have a new term for telling a lie, just call them alternative facts. Everyone lies in politics, but this is getting kind of strange. If they had just left it alone the amount of people attending the inauguration would have been a one day wonder. Now it just comes out as another lie and becomes the news headlines. Doesn't this get old?

looks like the trump presidency will be filled with trump spouting more lies and the media pointing out the truth and our local beloved trumpsters repeating the lies again and again.

Trump thinks crowd sizes are more important than intelligence briefings, polls, and ratings. That's why he specifically chooses to lie about them.

Fact: The red herring is the favorite tactic employed by many Trump supporters to distract from the ineptitude of him and his administration.

Alternative fact: This is all Hillary Clinton's fault.

The two things you cited are a difference of opinion. A citizens opinion as to what constitutes logistical is different that legality. They are two different things. Dictionary definitions support this.

The comparative size of two crowds is a fact.

The size of a TV audience is a fact.

The comparative side of DC Metro ridership on different dates are facts.

Well, since the news media has been lying or exaggerating (oh, excuse me...citing "alternative facts") about Trump ad nauseam almost since the campaigns began, at worst this response is just a little tit for tat. :shrug:

I mean, why did the media feel the need to make an issue in the news of relative crowd sizes anyway? :coffeepap:

The photos really make it pretty clear and it's Trump that decided to make a big deal out of the attending numbers

Ray Charles could look at those side by side photo's and see that the 20098 Obama crowd was twice the size of Trumps. And Ray has the double handicap of being both blind and dead.

But at least he is not a right wing zealot blinded by his own extremist belief system.... so he still has an advantage over them.

But it is Clinton's fault isn't it? She couldn't beat the most unpopular person to ever run for president.
 
If this is simply an opening gambit in long term ground war against the media, then game on. If it was a knee jerk reaction from a thin skinned egomaniac and his unlikable spokesman then one of the adults needs to get control of the WH.

Those facts are based on judgements from looking at pictures and on sample sizes of tv audiences meant to represent the whole. Much like presidential polls.

Personally I think president Obama had a bigger crowd. But if Trump wants to argue that opinion, so be it.

It's just another BS Trump verse media confrontation that'll be over tomorrow and replaced with a new confrontation.

Sadly its more than that Anna. Its a sign of his own mental instability and the sad fact that he has surrounded himself with others who share some sort of alternate reality.
