Was it a lie about showing his taxes?

By not following through on his promise he is giving everyone but the staunchest supporter a reason to "whine."

I was amused at the Lefties who demanded Trump show his tax returns months ago. When asked why they didn't have any rational answer-they already planned to vote against him.

the law would run amock of the constitution. as it is the constitution that sets the requirements for president.

If you don't understand why then look up how the practice got started in the first place during the Nixon Administration.

But, once again, he promised to release his returns and his team now says he is never going to do it. He is untrustworthy.

The Constitution outlines the minimum requirements. Obviously, other requirements can be and have been added (do you think the FEC requirements are unconstitutional?)

I question any poll that says 70% of Americans want to see his taxes. He's never going to show his taxes. I don't blame him. And I personally don't care. The media hopes their release would provide a gotcha moment. So does the Democratic machine. He has filled out all of the financial disclosures required by law.

Obama had a majority in Congress for two years. Where was the legislation to make it a law like the financial disclosures? Oh, wait. He used all of his capital on healthcare. Maybe, if it is soooo critical, he should have spent some on THAT. And the reason he didn't? It can ONLY be that neither side really wants that. The Left in particular would lose their big stick.
 
Sure, he might have at some point intended to do it but the last few months before the election it was clear to me that he never would because he had decided that he did not have to, and because it would hurt the Trump Brand which would hurt his kids and that he was not willing to do that. Trump was willing to sigh up for service but not at that kind of price.

So the guy who egged on the birther movement and demanded the release of Obama's birth certificate and decried it as fake after it was released is now suddenly above releasing a document he PROMISED to release and which would calm the nerves of a large percentage of Americans.

Yup. That proves beyond a doubt there is something in there he doesn't want anyone to see.

If you want to add requirements then you must add them to the constitution. as it is the constitution that defines who is allowed to run for president. if you wan to change or restrict that then
that would take an amendment.

the FEC operates under the constitution to determine who his allowed to run based on that.

lots of the libs are whining. I think was accentuates the butt hurt was how sure the left was (and how loudly their toadies in the press proclaimed it) that Hillary was going to win

Yeah. Trump sounds like a mean, petty, stuck up, classless, schoolyard bully, spoiled rotten rich kid whose mom should have just smacked him upside the head and told him to go stand in the corner until he learned to behave when she still had the chance. But it looks like even military boarding school wasn't enough to do that. Now he's grown up and is just an embarrassment to anyone in polite society. It was hard to believe that there were enough low class people in the American electorate who would vote for someone like this. But you know what they say, "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

cool story bro

we get the fact that left-wingers don't like Trump even though they had nothing bad to say about him until he decided to run for office.

I will enjoy watching the squeals of the butt hurt over the next four years. I cannot wait for Trump to put some people who actually respect the constitution on the various courts and to watch the howling from those who think the constitution should be whatever they want it to be
