As the doomsday clock ticks, and the new president prepares to take office, I am reminded of an old boss I had back in the early 90's. The guy was a complete ass. But, he was incredibly good at his job. In fact, he was the most competent boss I ever had.

This guy was the Bill Belichek of engineering managers. He was gruff, curt, and made it his mission to annoy. He treated everyone like dirt. Even the executive managers hated his guts. But, the dude knew his stuff. And when he made a commitment, be it to us field hands or the customers, the SOB moved mountains to deliver. The man had our respect.

I'm not saying Trump will be like that. In fact, I sort of suspect Trump is the exact opposite of the "I do as I say and say as I do" kind of guy my old boss was used to be. But, what if this jerk actually ends up being good at his job?

A man can dream.

If anything, I hope Trump does good at his job.

I have a dream.

Yep. I don't expect to like him or his style. But, if he does a good job, I will be quite happy with him.

Sometimes the right person shows up at that right time. The dark cloud that would have been HRC or BS would have done immeasurable damage to this country.

You don’t have to like Trump, I personally don’t, to want him to succeed and bring this country out of the cloud it has been in for eight years under Obama and the last two years of Bush is a selfless act and wanting prosperity and growth foe our great country. Unlike Obama, Trump is sending clear signals that he will work with anyone to achieve what’s best for this nation. Obama gave this half hearted lip service at best, his idea of working with others was them folding and totally agreeing with anything he proposed.

This non compromising with Obama became very clear with the photo opt meeting with republicans on the healthcare plans. Paraphrasing, and taking some liberties with wording, Obama basically told John Boehner to sit down and shut up, we won the election we will do whatever we like.

In my opinion, the hard left and right have a vested interest in dividing this country but more so on the left, this division is there lives blood and they will stop at nothing to stop even the most common sense acts by our new president.
