So, the crazies won the election. What's the mean? Well, it means that the world is about to be in the hands of the crazy. And the sane are bracing themselves for the inevitable earthquake.

China...is moving into a vacuum left by Trump's hostility to free trade deals to position itself as the champion of unfettered and open commerce.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is emerging as Trump's most vocal defender...

In the Arab world, US allies are mustering to head off the firestorm they fear if Trump honors his campaign vow to move the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

And in the Western Hemisphere, another traditional American friend, Mexico, is insisting it won't pay for the wall Trump has pledged to build on the Southern border. Even Canada is bracing for tense ties with its neighbor...

It's the end of the world as we know it

And I feel fine

Well since CNN and Trump are openly declared enemies, and let's face it CNN has never been anything but that for quite some time...

I'll keep that in mind whenever presented with "news" regarding Mr. Trump from that "unbiased source." :coffeepap:

Well, you will always have Fox News to tell you the "truth."

How is any of that a problem--other than in your own imagination. Earth to liberals--the sky is not falling.

I guess it comes down to perspective.

To me, it's insane to turn the United States over to the whims of Globalist Elites who don't see people, they just see dollars and power.

It's been my view that controlling one's destiny is far more preferable than standing in line wondering what scraps will be handed out.

Gawd help those people who have been trained to be satisfied with the cast offs of others.

I had no idea Mexico was "another traditional American friend." I don't see Mexico that way at all. I doubt many do.

It seems really difficult for some to understand it but what many on the left are complaining about is what a majority of people (wrong direction polling) are embracing. It baffles me. Much like when Ted Cruz first went to Washington, many people were convinced that his obstructionism and stubborn attitude was going make him unpopular. It did with California voters but the guys that actually elected him cheered for it. So often, I see someone lamenting the end or downfall or change in something and all I can think is "Yeah, that was the point...".

People wanted someone to shake things up. Kick stuff around. Break eggs and make omelets. Speak plainly. Follow through. Be correct -- not politically correct. No identity politics. No political sacred cows. Trump is all of that.

Many Americans have a dim view of the EU as an organization, believe the ACA is a financial drain, believe we appease too much on the world stage, and believe that American Exceptionalism is not a bad word. Trump shares those beliefs.

One may not like his personality or his policies but if you are looking to change direction, the biggest bull in the china shop this election was Trump. Things will change. As optimistic as I am, I still think it is a toss up of whether it is a change for the better or worse but change is needed and change is what we will have. But as I said, I'm optimistic. The "New" may be worse than the "Old" -- we will have to see -- but the "Old" is not working.

So when someone points to all of these "missteps" and "harbingers of doom", all I can think is "Yeah, that was the point...".
