23 are GOP and 7 are DEM.

When did trying to silence voices of dissent become acceptable?? Are you so afraid of ideas that you don't like that will stop people from hearing them?? This flies in the face of what liberalism used to be. At one time, it was the voice that screamed that all ideas should be brought to the table and discussed and now it's become one that screams "Agree with us or else!!"

VP Nixon in 1957 first validated the use of changing Senate procedures for the GOP.

GOP Majority Leader Frist threatened to use the nuclear option in 2005 but the Gang of 14 compromise prevented that.

McConnell refused to renew the Gang of 14 when in the minority.

McConnell refused to stop filibustering Obama's appointments to his Cabinet and to the Judiciary.

I hope McConnell pulls the nuclear trigger the GOP invented heading into the 2018 elections .

You'll get no disagreement from me on the GOP doing everything they could from the night of 11/04/2008 in Eric Cantor's DC office to sink Obama.

What you saw in 2010, 2014, and 2016 were very short Obama coattails and the GOP having a better smear machine going after Obama, Reid, and Pelosi.

It's now time for Democrats to return the serve to trump, Ryan, and especially McConnell .

Have you noticed that 22 GOP house members had their CDs won by Clinton?

And that 22 GOP senators are up in both 2020 and 2022?

The GOP can't help itself but overreach without a REPLACEMENT .

They're already in disarray now that their big promise to kill Obamacare turns out to be much harder and much, much less popular than they had convinced themselves for the past 6 years. But that's what extreme ideology does to people: puts their imaginations and magical thinking in control.

They also gone back to the "winning" idea of privatizing SocSec and are promising to cut Medicare. They must be getting advice from Dems on what to run on in 2018.

A couple years ago when I was just browsing on here, I read many many posts about the GOP being dead and gone, and they wouldn't hold the office again for 15-20 years.

Where did all the smugness go.......I sort of miss reading all the braggadocio threads.

But on the flip side, I will get to see all the hilarious meltdowns, fake news, pajama boy rants, and other funny stuff over the next 4 years.
