Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) issued a warning to Democrats on Wednesday, one day after the Supreme Court nomination of Merrick Garland expired without any Senate action: Don’t consider staging a similar blockade on any of President-elect Donald Trump’s high court nominees.

“I think that’s something the American people simply will not tolerate and we’ll be looking forward to receiving a Supreme Court nomination and moving forward on it,” McConnell told reporters.

I'm not sure how anyone can defend this corrupt senator. The reality however is that Democrats will not be able to block a Trump nominee. They do not have the courage or will power to do so.

Even if they did the filibuster, they wouldn't get it done. Democrats in general do not have the work ethic, commitment, or stamina that Republicans have.

Let me clarify. Typically people that hold a conservative value have much stronger faith and commitment than liberals.

It's easy to be liberal American. Essentially, it is a victim mentality without offering solutions.

I can go further into this, but the psychology of most liberals is that of being a victim. They are very insecure and often try to use bully tactics to bring people down to there level.

Liberals never ever give up on their agenda, they play the long game. Incrementalism is the way of the Left.
 
I hate to interrupt the usual all liberals are bad and lazym etc, etc, etc, BS but actually the Dems CAN filibuster Supreme Court nominees. The Nuke Option you guys are talking about did NOT include the SC.

On November 21, 2013, the Senate voted 52-48, with all Republicans and 3 Democrats voting against, to eliminate the use of the filibuster against all executive branch nominees and judicial nominees other than to the Supreme Court

Absolutely the Dems should do everything in their power to prevent SCOTUS appointments they don't approve of. I don't think they should debase themselves to the Republican's level, however, and refuse confirmation no matter who he nominates.

Yes, they do. A three-fifths vote is still required to end debates on legislation and Supreme Court nominations.

It's good to know what one is talking about before talking.

Yep, that's the problem when the Conservative movement no longer has an ideology besides hate. They hate so much it makes them ignorant to other things around them. They hate Dems and Libs so much they look to anything to make them look bad, so they jump at things that aren't even there. 50% of the daily I hate Libs and all Libs are stupid threads here are fake and wrong and shot down on the 1st page of the thread. Like this one.
