It gets surreal. Think about it. We have a president who believes Putin and Assange--the former an enemy of the US, the latter a conduit for releasing damaging information about the US--over his own intelligence agency. And, what is worse, his idiot followers believe the Russian and the leak publisher more than they do the CIA and our cyber experts.
WTF???

I am sure Putin is pleased.
I seem to remember James Clapper lying to Congress when asked if intelligence officials collect data on Americans.
Over the years I have learned that intelligence agencies are deceitful by nature.
It appears that Trump may wish to overhaul our intelligence agencies and perhaps they oppose being overhauled. If so these agencies might have reason to paint Trump in a poor light.
I'm not saying that I don't believe the Russians hacked the DNC or John Podesta. I feel it is likely that they did. I'm just saying I would like to see some solid evidence that the Russians leaked this information to WikiLeaks. Of course that might not be possible as it could reveal our methods and sources.
It appears the DNC and Podesta's email released was not altered and showed that politics is indeed a dirty game. The DNC did show favoritism towards Hillary and tried to insure she won the primary race. Of course if the DNC had been totally fair to both Bernie and Hillary the email would have been largely irrelevant.
In passing there are good methods to encrypt email. Of course they are not fool proof.
