Obama is trying to smother the new administration in red tape, trying to force them to spend a lot of time and energy undoing what he has done.

Clinton did the same sort of thing to Bush. Clinton signed an order making EPA standards for arsenic unworkably tough for farmers just before he left office. When Bush reversed the order Senator Hillary Clinton accused him of wanting to poison children. It was a set up, a trap. So Trump has to be careful.

There are a couple of ways Trump could deal with this. One way would be to sign an order reversing everything Obama did in the last few weeks. All of it, and then telling the people that he would sort it out later. So if there's something that Trump could be criticized for reversing he could simply say that he'll reinstate that regulation given time to consider it. I think everyone knows what a piece of crap Obama is and that this flurry of regulations was released in a peak of anger over the election.

Another way is to just be sure that the people know (Trump doesn't need the media's cooperation in this) that he's reversing the particular regulations that the Obama administration malignantly enacted to block his agenda, and then giving people some time to respond. That way if there are any land mines buried in this pile of crap they will be revealed.

Imagine that. Party machinations. I wonder if Governor-elect Roy Cooper feels the same way as President-Elect Trump is feeling right now?

Um, these new laws and regs could impact you, dude.

Obama is trying to destroy the "Make America Great Again" juggernaut in the crib.

Thanks Obama.

Could be. I don't know. I guess Trump should get busy and start attending those briefings that he has been neglecting so he knows what to do on January 20, 2017.

Typical leftist though, don't you think? Create as much havoc as possible just before leaving office. You can bet everything BO does is designed to have as much negative impact on the country as possible.

This slays me. I guess during the next 4 years it's still going to be "Thanks Obama."

Unbelievable. These political dirty tricks have GOT to stop. I'd guess both sides do t, but this is pathetic.

I do like the proposed path forward. Rescind them all.

And what do security briefings have to do with this??

Like your passion. Both sides are full of corruption.

But to put this in perspective. The statistic in the OP covers all of 2016. Not just since Donald Trump was elected.

I didn't gather that. Calling them Midnight Regulations is deceptive. And that stat means nothing as a stand alone unless one compares it to his previous years. God, I'm so sick of the press.

Thanks!

And Democrats in North Carolina are complaining that the outgoing Republican governor is doing a very similar thing.

And what makes you think they do not? Who knows? I doubt that Trump knows exactly what Obama is doing right now because he is too busy on Twitter.

In that Trump will just be following Obama's fine example. It was all Bush's fault for 6 of the 8 years of Obama's tenure.

Oh, well if they are all doing it then it's OK.

Trump may come up with a novel way of dealing with this. Something no one has thought of, least of all Democrats. He has a habit of beating everyone's expectations, speaking as one whose expectations of Trump were beaten to a bloody pulp, and then some.

Currious, now you know he is too busy on Twitter. Hmm and how would you know this?

So much for a smooth transition. Sounds more like payback for a lost election than anything helpful to the people, America. I realize to a certain extent both sides do this, last minute regulation, mandates etc. But this has the sound of excessive, excessive in that it was done not to better America, but to hinder and bind the new administration.

I knocked Trump during the primaries and general of throwing temper tantrums like a three year old via twitter, this must be Obama's temper tantrum over a lost election. Seems these two have more in common than originally thought.

What do you expect from a bunch of leftist ideologues that Obama has staffed his administration with?

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”

No truer words.

You know Obama is like the guy that came to your holiday party and you just can't wait for him to leave.

It's not just all these mountains of regulations he's gone bat crazy over but last minute federal land grabs too! This week he seized another 1.65 million acres. Most was in Utah and 300,000 were in Nevada. All of the Congress critters from Utah, the governor down to local governments in the area are outraged over this move on behalf of Obama. They say that it will cause a burden to the ranchers and mineral miners in the area. The vast majority of Nevada has already been seized for the Fed. They now have a housing crisis. But hey what's 300,000 more acres. Then last week Obama seized a mass of land in the Atlantic Ocean for the Feds and that has become a burden for the commercial fisherman. Obama has seized more land than any other president before him a total of 553 million acres. I hope Congress addresses the antiquated Antiquities Act to stop this kind of abuse of power.

Not really. One part is a blue dog democrat lawmaking body (pachyderms dressed up like jacka****.) and the other part is a GOP lawmaking body that did the same.
