Obama unleashes 3,853 regs, 18 for every law, record 97,110 pages of red tape

There are no Blue Dog Dems.
I beg to differ. They may be called something else by now but I would call them Republicans that has to take a Democratic party to get a seat.

Obama is trying to smother the new administration in red tape, trying to force them to spend a lot of time and energy undoing what he has done.

Clinton did the same sort of thing to Bush. Clinton signed an order making EPA standards for arsenic unworkably tough for farmers just before he left office. When Bush reversed the order Senator Hillary Clinton accused him of wanting to poison children. It was a set up, a trap. So Trump has to be careful.

There are a couple of ways Trump could deal with this. One way would be to sign an order reversing everything Obama did in the last few weeks. All of it, and then telling the people that he would sort it out later. So if there's something that Trump could be criticized for reversing he could simply say that he'll reinstate that regulation given time to consider it. I think everyone knows what a piece of crap Obama is and that this flurry of regulations was released in a peak of anger over the election.

Another way is to just be sure that the people know (Trump doesn't need the media's cooperation in this) that he's reversing the particular regulations that the Obama administration malignantly enacted to block his agenda, and then giving people some time to respond. That way if there are any land mines buried in this pile of crap they will be revealed.

Just goes to prove that many liberals and definitely liberal leadership are damn poor losers and vindictive dicks.

Lol, there you go again. Always someone else's fault. :lamo

And what makes you think they do not? Who knows? I doubt that Trump knows exactly what Obama is doing right now because he is too busy on Twitter.

I doubt Obama knows what he's doing - you think he's read 97,000 pages of regulations while he's on the golf course in Hawaii?? Valerie Jarrett and other Obama acolytes and flunkies cobbled together a bunch of poison pills as per Barry's instructions and Obama simply took out his pen and signed off on them. Would love to see the press question him about the content of the bundle, but there's no way that will happen. It's the old Nancy Pelosi approach to governance - pass it, then figure out what you passed later.

Easily resolved. Executive order 1: Suspend execution of any and all regulatory acts imposed by the outgoing president for the last 120 days.

So much for a smooth transition. Sounds more like payback for a lost election than anything helpful to the people, America. I realize to a certain extent both sides do this, last minute regulation, mandates etc. But this has the sound of excessive, excessive in that it was done not to better America, but to hinder and bind the new administration.

I knocked Trump during the primaries and general of throwing temper tantrums like a three year old via twitter, this must be Obama's temper tantrum over a lost election. Seems these two have more in common than originally thought.

Did you even read the article P?

There was nothing last minute about this. It describes the total regs issued over all of 2016. I dont know about you, but I dont consider an entire year the last minute

He puts out an average of 2 or 3 tweets a day.

Unbelievable. These political dirty tricks have GOT to stop. I'd guess both sides do t, but this is pathetic.

I do like the proposed path forward. Rescind them all.

What exactly is dirty about people who are elected to govern actually governing? What proof is there that something dirty occurred?

I could see this another way, as President Obama giving something for President-Elect Trump to get extra-credit for undoing. This can help his constituents look past the fact that he's not going to repeal Obamacare, build a wall, ban Muslim immigration, surveil mosques, or do anything else he campaigned on.

The GOP has them too, they're called RINOS

No President does that, Congress either; that's why the President and Congress has people that sums up that stuff for them. They're looking for favorable and unfavorable tenets to legislation.

Actually it's four. And the thoughts and worrying he does with those Tweets are pretty ridiculous considering he is not preparing for that job by not going to briefings.

So, your claim that Trump doesn't know what Obama is doing because he's on Twitter was gratuitous nonsense and no more valid than my counter claim that Obama doesn't know what Obama is doing because he's on the golf course. We can agree that a lot of the grunt work gets done by grunts but if the ACA is any indication of Democrat grunts being able to competently fashion legislation, I wouldn't be too optimistic that these 97,000 pages of regulations are anything to be proud of.

I honestly don't know how you glorious god-fearing conservatives find the strength to go through life with this implacable and incalculably vast liberal conspiracy plotting to victimize you out of every turn, let alone how you can sleep with the sun shining out of your asses.

I also cannot fathom how you can read an article covering an entire year and conclude that it was all a super-secret plot to harm Trump. When running victory laps, weren't you guys constantly jabbering on about how the Dems are so out of touch they couldn't believe anyone but Hillary would win? How could a regulation that went into force in January be a trap for Trump? (Unless this is Obama's time machine at work again?).

Then there's also the business of simultaneously claiming agencies are unaccountable therefore government is bad, and on the other hand, claiming that Obama personally crafted and directed each one of these regulations (while, simultaneously, not knowing about the APA).

The election cycle is bad enough. I don't think anyone can reasonably expect a sitting President to order all executive agencies to stop all new work in its tracks because maybe someone from the other party might win an election with an ostensible (but faked) anti-all-things-government agenda might win and feel inconvenienced.

Okay, who are these "Blue Dog Dems"? Name names.

It wasn't a lot of Democratic grunts. There was plenty of DINOS (Democrats-in-name-only.) that were obstacles to the legislation that Obama really wanted.

I thought it was the vast right wing conspiracy that was after Hillary? In any event, the vast left wing conspiracy is near the end of life. Voters don't believe the vast left wing conspiracy anymore.
