Fringe extremists are a threat to American unity!

Bannon is human excrement! Jewish people and Muslim Americans are just as American as the rest of us! Fringe extremism must be pushed back from mainstream political parties!

We are all Americans! All schools stay open for all Americans!

And that's fine, so long as everyone is willing to be Americans first and <fill in the blank> second. But so many people come to the American melting pot and refuse to melt. So many come to America wanting to be hyphenated-Americans, not Americans. They want to bring their old culture and old beliefs, not adopt the ones of the country they supposedly want to be a part of. That's where the problems begin. Because instead of being Americans, they want to be outsiders living in America. It's no wonder there are problems.

You're basing this angst and anger off of what, exactly? What has someone, anyone, in the Trump team done to give you such a dark view where you assume it is going to be run by fringe extremists?

Please don't quote others that simply say the same as you do above, but rather give me some proof where Bannon, or Trump, or anyone else in the Trump team has made specific statements or made specific actions that support your fears?

For the record, I'm not a fan of Bannon, and I'm not a fan of his former employer. But, I haven't been able to find, nor has anyone provided me, a specific statement where he's actually said all the crap he's been accused of saying. If he has? Fine, show me.

Also, I didn't vote for Trump, yet I do think that all the crap he's getting is not all legitimate, with most of his statements being either taken out of context or just plain lied about.

Now, Flynn is another story all together, it appears that he may be a CT nutter, and that concerns me.

None of the other nominations for senior positions bother me all that much, although I haven't researched them all yet.

The veiled threat that was made by an Arkansas governor by warning the public what would happen were the little rock nine to attend high school is employed by other conspiracy minded sheeple who make similar warnings. The warning neither absolves people who attacked schoolchildren, as evidenced by the expulsion of one of those African American students who retaliated against attacks, nor does it justify segregation.

people have been claiming hyphenated Americanism is a problem for over one hundred years. The truth is it is more American then Apple Pie.

he said it over 100 years ago. So for over one hundred years people were expressing worry. hasn't enough time passed yet to alleviate these concerns?

It's been a factor, like Little Italy in New York, but it has never been a huge problem like it is today. No society can survive if it is as fragmented as ours currently is.

Because in the past, even though people were hyphenated, they actually saw themselves as Americans. Today, lots of people see themselves as outsiders, they don't care about America, they only care about themselves.

Why would something like that have a time limit? You don't think that is best for the country and the unity we want. These times have their own concerns. People hate us, or that is what we hear.

Are they to be allowed to go to school in your "free" America?

How about the guy down the street who is a Clansman?
Do his kids get to go to school too?

Around the corner is a guy who still keeps his VOTE FOR TRUMP sign up in his yard.
Is he allowed his freedom of speech to keep that sign up?

stop and think. when the eastern seaboard was settled they brought english (except new amsterdam) with them didnt they.When N. Europeans settled the midwest they used the home tongue. Schools and newspaperswere in swedish or german or whatever. You need to do some learning before you post.
