“To turn around and say that they need safe spaces after their candidate won I think is ironic and hypocritical,” Ms. Makki said.

Yeah, you can say that again Ms. Makki. Contrary to what the seeming majority of DP conservatives wanted (needed?) to believe, "safe spaces" are not a liberal thing. They're a young college kid thing.

It doesn't seem "ironic or hypocritical". At base, I think that these "safe spaces" thing is retarded. But imagine if Hillary won and Trump supporters behaved like the Hillary supporters when they lost. Those kids would be calling for a safe space and I wonder if Ms. Makki would all of a sudden see it not as ironic or hypocritical.

The lot of kids these days need to grow some thicker skin and start getting over things and dealing with disappointment/failure better. But I don't see this as particularly ironic or hypocritical because the hardcore Hillary supporters are out harassing folk and being general aggressive jerks.

Bah, just more PC BS. Academia shouldn't be for the feint of heart.

NYT gimme a break..

How sensational..

Well, yes, I do think the safe spaces are "retarded".

But it is hypocrisy for anyone who criticized the left when college kids (assumed to be liberal) demanded "safe spaces" for other things, and, perhaps to a lesser extent, those who supported those who did the same.
That's the definition of hypocrisy: do as I say, not as I do.

OK, but did these kids do that? That's who were calling hypocrites after all.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I'm not even seeing where some of the conservative students are advocating for safe spaces in that article.

What are you doing on a DEBATE site if you'll only listen to what Rush Limbaugh tells you?

Fighting the left..

Not that I listen to rush at all actually..

What I do know is that you don't see many stories about liberals getting physically assaulted for their political beliefs on college campuses.

I would agree if conservatives were saying they need "safe spaces" because their feelings were being hurt. Conservatives are saying they need safe spaces because they're getting physically assaulted.

Was it Presley that saw her crying in the chapel?

Yeah, it's a highly-misleading headline. Seemed like the conservatives said it more as a joke and the story mentions the lefty students resented it. The vast majority of the article has to do with other things entirely.
