Hollywood publicity firm Sunshine Sachs has canceled its annual, bicoastal holiday celebrations as gesture of support for immigrants, women, LGBT people and the environment.
The decision was a gesture to “defend the values we hold dear,” according to an email sent Tuesday.

“We’ve been talking a lot about how to protect the things we care about, post-election,” CEO Shawn Sachs told TheWrap. The firm’s clients include companies like Facebook and stars like Natalie Portman, Ben Affleck and Leonardo DiCaprio.

...so how is not having a Christmas party defending these things? Are they instead going to lobby Congress during this time? Call electors? Or are they just doing nothing and pretending that by being a sourpuss, they're standing up for something?

The left has shown itself to be the tremendous crybabies that they are... if they don't get their way they throw a tantrum, have a conniption fit. I can remember when I was young and started something like this at, say, a restaurant. My dad would tell me to settle down, to quit cutting a shine meaning to us acting out in defiance and bringing unwanted attention to the family out in public.... and, if I continued on like the left is now, he would look me straight in the eye and say, "Ok, lets go out to the car". Then I knew I was in for it, done for, had gone too far, had been warned and well, time for the consequences to my poor actions.

And yes, he would follow through. Never held it against him, I knew even at a young age that I had done it to myself. Wish the libs would as mature as a 5 year old and understand at least that.

Obviously the best way to cure one's "funk" is to sit around feeling sorry for oneself.

Our fathers must have been related. LMAO

The lefts reaction to not getting their way and their "values" may just have something to do with why they lost in the first place....

Ha ha ha, maybe. They seemed to come out of almost the exact same mold from those days.

My dad was ridge runner from the mountains of West Virginia. Tough and fair, a grip that could crush my hand throughout the majority of my life, steely grey-blue eyes of one who you didn't mess with unless you had plenty of reinforcements. Very smart, hard working and with just the right off beat sense of humor to always keeping me smiling, thinking, on my toes. A traveler, constant reader and an amateur Civil War historian, he was truly a helluva man.

Taught us all very good lessons from the very beginning, was consistent. My dad, though I always wished he had been a bit more of a communicator on a personal level, I still hold in the highest of regards to this day. And he is long past now.

Remember Pearl Harbor!!! But like the Americans we are, never hold a grudge unworthy of our opponents.

Looks like our fathers shared a lot of similarities. Must have been the era, I guess. My folks were Okies who ventured out to Kalifornia during WWII. Mom was straight up Grapes of Wrath, dad's family was pretty well off by Depression standards. I miss my folks.

My kin are long past as well, but good, salt of the earth folks.

My Dad was from the Ozarks, but hooked up with my Mom's family, who were all ridge runners from W.Va. Dad and all my uncles ran Moonshine through W.Va., Va., Kentucky and parts of Tn, back in the 30s. They drove some really cool cars...I still have some photos somewhere .

..and since Trump hasn't shown that he's not supporting any of those issues, this is all faux poutrage. Too bad that they can't put that effort into something that might actually happen or truly needs to be addressed.

The left has shown itself to be the tremendous crybabies that they are... if they don't get their way they throw a tantrum, have a conniption fit.

Ah, the sweet, fetid stench of gleeful ignorance. There are plenty on the left in Hollywood and elsewhere who are throwing parties like they always have.

Apparently it didn't take.

Instead of "let's get funky", it's really "let's get ready to weep and wallow in our pool of tears".

First of all, that headline has nothing to do with the gist of the article. There is not mention of a "funk" in it.

In any case, I think it's cool that they decided to put the money to uses that benefit people who are in need. If those people who don't get their party really want one, they can foot the bill themselves.

Sorry, no big Hollywood fetes for ya huh? Grumpier than generally, are ya? But as usual, never worthy of more of a response than this. One must be one really unhappy individual to have the thesaurus always cracked open and marked only the pages with those, the most negative of adjectives.

Hate to break it to ya bro, that a'int debating. Try something like, you know, substance... because, shock of shocks, substance has, you know, substance? Interesting and critical thought? Still no interest eh?

Even still, should really use that obviously pent up negative energy figuring out how to actually debate, maybe? Someday?

Sorry that you got caught in a wild generalization and have no rational response. No one ever expects anything else from you. Not at all surprised you had to look those words up.

Where did I ever claim it was debating? You made an absurd statement, and I addressed that. The comment didn't merit anything further of substance, since it didn't involve critical thought; it was just another outburst based in emotion. It's what you always do.
Even still, should really use that obviously pent up negative energy figuring out how to actually debate, maybe? Someday?

The day you post something that's worth actually debating that isn't chock full of fallacies, dishonesty and emotion, I'll be sure to check it out!

blah blah blah and more banal blah. I have yet to see you debate anything worthwhile here on site. The only reason I respond to you, and I will stop that as it just wastes more of my time, is when you post directly to me.

Otherwise, I now just skip over those who never contribute anything of value to any debate here.

Thanks for proving my point. There was no attempt at debate, either from your or me, since what I replied to was a laughably dishonest bare assertion that, when challenged on, you have no answer for. Not at all surprised you'd have to dishonestly attempt to pass off that there was.

Again, the day you post something that's worth actually debating that isn't chock full of fallacies, dishonesty and emotion, you simply must let me know.

I wouldn't want to miss that!
