When Someone Believes the Fake News

It's almost like believing the GOP cheated in the election with no evidence at all.

Gerrymandering is cheating as far as I'm concerned. (Democrats do it too, but Republicans went nuts in 2010 in my state.)

You can't gerrymander a Presidential election. There are no districts, only states.

lol...I knew this day was coming.

Trump making America Great Again.

I know of a couple of lefties that have bought into the biased mainstream media meme on Nazi's and White Supremacists.
I think they are checking under their beds every night before going to sleep or something.

Such is the impact of the media's baseless fear mongering. Yeah, fake news is starting to become a problem.

True. I don't think fraud or cheating is what got Trump elected, unless you count misinformation and lying as fraud, but Trump and Republicans certainly don't have a monopoly on that.

Calamity does.

Trump making America Great Again.

Trump didn't do this, American's have been losing their overall intelligence for some time now. Trump is a symptom of that, not the cause.

No, I will not. Research it yourself. Research the Reddit group and sub group. 4 chan. Millions of views on youtube with hundreds of thousands of thumbs up on a multitude of videos. I don't care if you don't believe me, you have google and youtube. I refuse to have a link to anything these people have published as it will only get them more exposure. You can PM me and I will provide you with the links if you don't believe me, otherwise I'm pretty sure you have the internet and don't need me to find something that's really easy to find.

So...you can cobble some things together over the internet, assign significance to them, pretend things like "views" on YouTube are actual replacements for real statistical analysis, claim millions are duped, and then refuse to back it up. Interesting.

You're welcome to do the research. It's absolutely true. Pizzagate. It's both a joke and not a joke and I assure you, despite your very valid skepticism, that it is true. There's a reason a guy went in there with a gun - he's being egged on by comments on reddit, 4 chan, youtube and twitter to literally murder the owner of this establishment.

Also, you are aware that millions of people get their news from twitter, reddit and youtube. And people believe what they read and hear.

There's stupid people everywhere, doesn't mean that millions have bought into it. It means one bought into it and the rest are perhaps trolls.

Now the reality is that more than one person bought into it, but millions? Doubt it.

Is it finally happening? Are we now on the road to becoming a society as depicted in "Idiocracy"? (NSFW LINK!!)

We've been on that road for some time. Every election was just a ratcheting down of quality and platform. Lowest common denominator tripe. And that's how we have a Reality TV personality as President.

Thinking...it's hard, so don't do it.

No. There's only your supposition. There is no cause. Cause requires at least some evidence. There isn't any.

That's some desperate deflection right there.

When I first saw Idiocracy I thought it was such an hilarious comedy. I had no idea that it was actually a prescient documentary.

What are you talking about?

You drop into a thread about one thing, desperatly try to deflect into a irrelevant reversal and then go balls the wall to declare it being the same thing.

It's almost like believing the GOP cheated in the election with no evidence at all.

Sure. And it's exactly like believing that 3 million illegals all voted for Shillary - with no evidence at all.

Where do you get that idea? This is just plain bizarre.

And that Hillary Clinton and Podesta abuse (sexually), sacrifice to the ancient god Moloch and eat them.

I am not kidding. And the best part is that millions of people believe this to be true. I refuse to provide links or sources. These people deserve no recognition. It's Alex Jones squared.

Show that "millions" of people believe this. Yes, you have to provide sources.

I don't know if millions believe it. I'm not sure what it says about the country that it an even gain as much traction as it has.

But I can say with absolute certainty that it's terrifying that there are people on our president elects transition team that actually think there's some truth to this story and thinks it's worth discussing.

And there's only more of this stuff to come. You would think that the president elect would rather his team not spread false stories that endanger innocent people's lives like this but I guess that's not a big concern right now.

It certainly is.

I don't know how many people believe these fake news reports, but I bet it's a heck of a lot. I've fallen for a couple of them - before someone told me that I needed to fact check what I was sharing on facebook.

It's our biases that block our common sense sometimes. If something fits our bias, then we tend to automatically jump to the conclusion that it is true. Just a couple of days ago I had a facebook friend to tell me that he heard Obummer telling illegals that it was OK for them to vote. I asked him for proof of that, like a video clip or a transcript or something. Didn't hear back from him.

And we just elected President Camacho.

Maybe I just don't remember that well, but I don't seem to remember presidential candidate stump speeches ever being called "rallies" (as in high school pep-rallies) in previous election campaigns.
