From the earliest days of his campaign, Donald J. Trump made keeping manufacturing jobs in the United States his signature economic issue, and the decision by Carrier, the big air-conditioner company, to move 2,000 of them from Indiana to Mexico was a tailor-made talking point for him on the stump.
On Thursday, Mr. Trump and Mike Pence, Indiana’s governor and the vice-president elect, plan to appear at Carrier’s Indianapolis plant to announce they’ve struck a deal with the company to keep roughly half of the jobs in the state, according to officials with the transition team as well as Carrier.

I agree.
But slipping badly the last 8 years....
Prove it.
Why do you engage immediately in personal attacks and deflections when challenged?
Im simply pointing out your hypocrisy....
Any word on what specific deal they got offered to stay?
You are trying to be positive about this and that is good, but there is more to that....
Carrier received about 7 million in State Tax Credit to keep 800 jobs while still loosing few thousand or so still to Mexico. Carrier also has a huge military contract for US government, so I am sure there will be free give me there too. So unless those 800 employees have salary of more than 1 million per person, I say that far better deal for Carrier than for the employees, and the rest of non-Carrier employees and the People of Indian just paid through their nose and arse for the deal that will only benefit Trump and Carrier Executives.
Now what is so strange about Indiana is that Mike Pence does not need to go through legislative branch to authorise this fund, so essentially he bypassed the state Senate to make this deal, which I have suspicion it was a done deal even before all of that started.
With Trump we always get more fake bling than actual good quality measurable substance. I guess this is what we wanted and this is what we got.
Diving Mullah
That was paid back.
Maybe this will be as well, with some superior products for the Pentagon.
Doesn't the Pentagon pay $500 for each toilet seat?
You have the right to be wrong. I suggest you stop abusing-the privilege.
