I have listened to and read about those who think that to have to serve all of the public violates their religious freedom. They wish to use their freedom of religion to discriminate against those who they believe violate the tenants of their religion. I am not sure how the courts will rule on this interpetation of the First Amendment, but lets say the agree with those who wish to have a choice on who they serve. MY question is, does the First Amendment only apply to those who parctice any of the Christian religions, or to all religiions. I have recently read about those who wish to ban the wearing of the hijab by women of the Muslim faith. Those who wish to ban the wearing of the hijab say it is a security issuue, but the Muslim religion as practiced by much of the Muslim world it is a requirement of that religion to wear the hijab. Under the First Amendment do they have as much a right to religious freedom as those who want to use their religion to discriminate against those who they believe violate the tenants of their religion? So who gets to use their religious freedom?
